    That does happen..
Like all good things, they too come to an end.
We are not hard on vehicles, but we do use them, and the Benz is just too foo foo for me.

I understand the difference between use and abuse... hard concept for some folks to understand.

I like the GMT 900 trucks (2007-2013) But the GMT800 rigs are very nice also...
The Avy is a handy (Swiss army knife) truck that can fill many roles.

Exactly what it is to her. Like you she uses the truck, doesnt abuse it.

These trucks can have rust issues underneath and coastal Maine winters takes its toll on vehicles on a vehicle that isnt rust prone.

Her Avy has had some of the usual issues. Keep an eye on your oil level or if the #1 plug fowls. If burning excessive oil and/or fowling #1, a modified valve cover might help that. My brother in law got rid of his Avy for these 2 problems. I fixed my honey's truck with the modified cover.

stateside, and CA is probably the same, requires PT in contact with concrete. I'm sure that includes block. the use of sill seal is a good practice.

Out here in Oregon we don't have the Salt issues that are so tough on vehicles.
Oregon did adopt using Salt in the large metro areas in the event of a heavy ice/snow situation, but that is a rare occurrence.

Where we are, when it snows it is just there until it melts.

Lottsa fresh water to flush off the crud.
We currently have a 1995 Suburban and it has zero rust anywhere.

If the current weather forecast holds true, Mother Nature is going to flip a switch on Friday. After that, it looks like 60s-70s daytime temps and 40s-50s night time temps, and with overnight temps like that it means the blasted humidity will be blowing out of here once and for all. Man I hope so, because we need a good long stretch of cool dry weather to enjoy.

One step closer on the Benz going away.
The final papers should be here between tomorrow and Monday.

I paid the transfer fee today so that's not a stumbling block.
Once the paperwork shows up we can finish things quickly.

    GAWD I HOPE SO....:hair:
    I AM STRESSED OUT...

stopped out to the Farm yesterday to check on progress. The estimated 500+ yard topsoil pile is almost gone..... 700 yards and counting!
picked up a little Farmall Cub that was donated to get running and do basic repairs, flat tires, etc. I think since we have a couple of them already I'll see about selling this one, as it is an unrestricted donation. Pic's to come

That sort of mileage does not surprise me at all... The 97 Astro we bought back in Feb has 222,000 on it now and we got it from the Original owner.
The guy changed the oil every 1500 miles.... (When he got bored he would change the oil)

Our 1995 Burb has 216,000 on the clock and the old 454 purrs like a kitten still

I consider anything under 200,000 LOW MILES.
Anything under 100,000 is hardly off the showroom floor...
    Condition is everything.
We have looked at 2010 to 2014 rigs that were/are junk... with upholstery ragged, dents, dings, cracked windshields....etc,etc and the lots are asking $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ :picard:

If these trucks (Any rig) are given some basic care and loving, they can last a looooooooong time.

Gonna be time to start thinking about the stoves here soon.

The Hazelnut crop should be a good one this year, and I am excited about getting our winter supply in.

Got pelted on the way home. 50 MPH with the wipers full bore. Over now and the sun is coming back out. Much cooler though. Temp dropped to around 65*F from 88*F rather quickly.

Sitting on the deck with a brew.......... :D
