Just over 2 cords roughly. Ill need to remeasure. I knew last year, but my brain is mush at the moment. Off to bed I go...
This old thing at parents acreage has been full since June 2011,roughly 4 cords.About another 8 stacked between the trees within 10-40 feet close by.Shed looked much better 15-20 years ago (built in Nov 1982),has been patched/repaired from falling overhead limbs/storm damage but should be good for a few more years. It would've blown or fell over by now if it wasn't full..............
F-it Thistle it's keeping the wood semi dry from the driving rains for me tin keep the top few rows dry enough no sense in building a wood shed I can't move to the splitting area
Mine has evolved over the last 4 years. 4 years ago it was a dog shed. Then I added a back and stacked some wood in it. It wasn't long before it got sides. Then for the last 2 years, it sat without a front. The front was done as cheap as possible with 2 x 3's and the same fence wood I have repurposed. With 5 rows, stacked about to the ceiling, it's over 3 cord. The shed is 10 x 10 with the ceiling going from 6 ft to 7 ft.
That's what I say too.Splitting area is anywhere within 10-50 feet of this.Besides I figure why spend $300 or more for new treated lumber/plywood & screws/bolts? I'd rather put that towards future project saws or tools for the shop instead. It faces east so rarely does it get much rain/snow from that direction.West side is covered, except for the few scattered holes from various woodpeckers etc over the years.
There is an apartment on the back of my garage (gonna tear it out in a few weeks) and that is the walkway to get back there. Because no one lives in it and we only use it for storage, I have let the walkway go to crap. My garage is fairly deep (photo is far away, but my house is 70 ft wide and garage is 40 or 44?), but only half of it is used for garage currently. So in a fee weeks it will be a 3 car garage, that is 2 cars deep. I can't wait to get started.
Sounds like a great (photo) project comin up… You use a level on the wood stack? Nice… and nice home too.
Got called in last night so I had some time after work. All done just need to add wood. Total cost: less than $50. It pays to scrounge things besides wood.now to clean up the yard one of these days.
You are gonna love it ! Easier to organize if you have a place to put stuff Is that Maryland or Pa behind the shed
Nice Jet. Plan to use pallets for a floor? Like Dave said, you're gonna' love it. Put dry wood in there and it stays that way. Beautiful.
I'm liking those cross arms, what's on the roof? I grew up on a dairy farm in Barlow-Two Taverns area, just outside of Gettysburg. As a child I'd ride my bike to Maryland, just to say I could.
Metal roofing that my brother in law had in his barn. Kind of had to piece the last little bit together but it will keep out water.
