You have to get special tickets to enter the pedestal of the statue of liberty, or to climb to the crown of the statue . We had crown tickets, this is the pedestal lobby , with the old torch that was on the statue until the 80s. We also had tickets to one world trade center, the observation deck. However the top of the tower was in the clouds, so we decided to wait a day. The Seacacaus fire department was getting pictures behind the statue of liberty. Memorial pools for the WTC and the new tower Memorial for the first servicemen to carry the fight back to the Taliban. Mostly army rangers fighting from horseback in October 2001. This is in the area across from the WTC next to the saint Nicolas Greek orthodox church that is finally being rebuilt after being destroyed when the towers fell, and then not allowed to rebuilt by the city for many years. My in-laws were at our house to watch the kids, Monday we visited the prudential center observation deck. 50 stories instead of 100, but still an awesome view. We also visited the maporium inside the christian science world headquarters. A three story tall glass globe that you walk inside of on a glass bridge . Wow, you really get around Rowerwet , all the way from local ponds, to the adirondacks, and then on to NYC. You took some really amazing photos. I love the north country lakes! But I've never been the the BIG city, and felt like I was really in the the Statue of Liberty. Thanks.
Sunday we had a baptism service, I got to baptize five from the church I pastor, including two of my own children. Monday I took my in-laws to the cape cod potato chip factory tour, right behind the Hyannis airport . Then we visited the cape cod potato logo lighthouse. Nausett head lighthouse in Eastham, MA. We noticed that the windmill on the green in Eastham was open so we had to stop by. The cool part was being able to climb the stairs and check out the gears that made it all work. Saturday night fireworks cruise on canobie lake. The amusement park puts on fireworks Saturday nights from the 4th of July to labor day weekend. Some lights I whipped up made from plastic golf bag tubes and cheap LED flashlights.
I wonder how many old windmills were in built in Ma? I visited one at Heritage Museum I believe in Sandwich, Ma. I can't remember if it was operating at the time we went. That was back in the mid 1970's.
My post on the fireworks cruise got interrupted, I was in Presque Isle, ME for work, and my pilot showed up in a hurry to leave. We had three boats, total. the full moon and clouds made a cool backdrop for the fireworks. A beautiful end to a great day
Tuesday I rode one of my company aircraft to Presque Isle, ME (PQI) spent an hour fixing a broken plane there, then hung out for the day. Then rode the plane I fixed back to Lewiston-Auburn airport (LEW) and hung out a few more hours waiting for the freight to show up. Sad Connie about to get broken up and shipped to Germany. I didn't forget that this is a heating site, here's a picture of my shoulder season heat going into storage. Jet fuel from Work! The daily sumps from the aircraft fuel tanks, fuel trucks, and storage tanks, all go into a barrel and becomes waste that they pay to have removed. I'm actually saving my employer money by making it disappear. We haven't had to buy fuel for the church or house in years

So, you burn jet fuel in your oil furnaces? Wow! I'm going to your church, I'll get to heaven in a hurry!
Jet fuel is just more highly refined kerosene, it actually has less energy per gallon than kerosene, which has less energy per gallon than diesel, which has less energy per gallon than heating oil, but they all burn fine in an oil burner. (Drop by the church anytime )
Not Tupper lake, though I did drive through the town on the way to Mr Arab. Every time I'm in the Adirondacks I add another lake to my list to paddle
