Hopefully I'm not the only one who walks around there yard amiring all there wood neighbors look at me like I lost it at times
I know the feeling. I've become "that guy". Lol. My one neighbor says he judges how long and cold the winter is going to be by his much firewood I've hoarded up in the yard.
Had a party at my place last weekend. Several people came up and said "You have a lot of wood" Makes me laugh every time and never gets old to hear.
I've had that alot this year! No one is selling firewood right now. My younger neighbor (accidentally) sold a cord. He put 400$ as a number, thinking it would run the guy off! Nope. Now he is a cord shy. I check my wood piles like I'm on CQ.
Ya, I love that too. My Dad and uncles tell me I have issues. I tell them Thank you! My wife was on the screenporch watchin me yesterday bring up more rounds from the trees I cut down, shakin her head. Well, for those of you who dont know, I always tell her “keepin that sweet A$$ warm one log at a time”.
i know what ya mean....heck, must of us do......but ya know that guy eatonpcat? He’d have that quote turned all around in no time.....
We had a cookout recently and was treated to the same kinda questions..... ‘Course I had my FHC “Got Wood” t-shirt on, so I had it covered.
Most people that know me know I never been right in the head but way I see it I'm perfectly normal everyone else might be off there rockers
I'm so glad I found this group bunch of great people that have the same wood hoarding and humor as I do a wood hoarding version of AA and no I never been to AA lol
Yep. After we got my wood moved, its stacked on the side of the garage and some out in the drain field area on an old basketball court. Haven’t quite had the opportunity to get back to work on it or really look at it.... But I’m itching...
Yes I have been known to behave in this manner. My favourite time is at sunset after a hot summers day, The smell of firewood that has been baked in the sun all day and the sound of Cicada bugs, the subdued orange light as the sun drops below the distant hills, it's almost a surreal and enigmatic experience. When anyone here in S NH comments on my hoard, I ask them if they remember the ice storm in 2008? They get a thoughtful look on their face.
Just the other day I ran the bush hog around my stacks and thought how nice they look with a fresh haircut.
