Watch how much you take, if you take more than your allotment I'll be over for some skinny dipping in that new pond.
I did some splitting today before we went to the town hall. The pile has yellow birch and all your maples in it, tomorrow I plan on stacking some depending on how quick it heats up.
I think we had a total of three weeks of this same chit this summer, it has been a hot summer with hardly any rain for our area.
I'm soooo looking forward to splitting and stacking some wood, it's just too damm hot and muggy here yet. Waiting for cooler weather! How's the temps up there, Zap? *edit* I just now saw your post above, looks like you're in the same boat as us! Ugh!!
I just wish we had received some of the rain PA got, it has been a dry summer up here. I'm behind on our firewood by my standards, I screwed up my back after all the clearing for the new garage but thank god it was only a muscle pull so that's ok. When they were building the garage it was crazy hot so I didn't do much. I see your new build going on, it looks like it will be a great place for family or friends.
We'd have gladly given yinz some, it's been ridiculously wet here all damm summer. Your garage looks great buddy, hope that muscle heals up fast for you. I sprained my wrist a few weeks back, then I got plantar fascitous in my left foot, then tore a left quad muscle. I'm in bad shape but trying to grind through it... Thanks buddy, I'm looking forward to it, but the endless rain we've had has me pushed back and it looks like we won't be finishing it til next spring or summer, unless we have a mild fall/early winter where I can work on it.
My backs healed but I've been dealing with plantar fasciitis too . I insulated 32 bays in the garage on Saturday so going up the ladder and down did a job on my left heel. Today I doubled up on wool socks and under my left heel I put a small rectangular sponge inside my left sneaker under my heel, it seemed to help out. I think the heaviest rain we received in a 24 hour period this summer was two inches, PA seemed to get hit with all the heavy rains this summer.
I did some stacking today with the help of plenty of water, I came in for some lunch around 1:45. Most of the day we had good cloud cover with some good winds which was nice.
That sucks MikeInMa , the winds were between 10 & 20 mph today so with the cloud cover too, things weren't that bad. We could be in for some high winds tonight and tomorrow with temps Wednesday night hitting about 57.
