Nice. I like the way you have your sliding brackets, further down the 2x4, utilizing the gap between each rack. Good stuff right there. The muggie's come back Wednesday. I cut a small pile of dead branches, elbow thickness, today while it was still not too bad. Hoard on!
I love my brackets, they make it easy to throw up storage almost anywhere. Summer is here to stay for awhile...I'd rather have it wet than dry.
Not what I planned to do in 90°+ weather, but... I got a second load after this, might go back for a third. It's got a little punk on the outside, but the inside is solid.
Missed this thread but to be completely honest, when I saw the title I was thinking this, I spotted this hoarder travelling down Hwy 401 near Toronto back in 2016.
All those birch rounds in my first picture arrived in one pickup load, I watched two guys chuck them out. I was impressed, should have paid attention to what kind of truck it was.
I would have wound up taking half of them back to the dump. Some of them were too punky. I got all the good ones though!
It doesn't get much easier than this... Once I get my car unloaded, I can calculate my carrying capacity...
It was dump closing time (1P on Saturdays), so no time to unload and go back. I just left a few splits anyway. I'll pick them up if they are still there on Monday.
Seems pretty high moisture content for the way it looks. They must have stored it in a pool for the last month.
The splits were fairly heavy. Lots of pill bugs on the bark. My guess is, stored under a leaky tarp during the monsoons.
He's just taking care of business before hockey season starts, not much hoarding goes on after the first puck drops.
Quarter of a cord is pretty impressive for that lol thing you drive! Must have been dragging the bumper on the ride home.
I was riding a little low. I got the rest of it this morning, plus someone else's discarded woodpile. Tomorrow I'm picking up this: Hard to tell how big it is, but it's right next to a driveway and I'm bringing my saw maul, and wedges. I hope I can do it in one trip.
