Pine Log Load came this morning. Here is the breakdown:,,,,7 (12 foot) logs roughly all 20 inches in diameter. How many face cords do you think I got.. Remember it was only $50.00... I figured between 5- face cords..Any thoughts??? Thanks guys...
Log radius is 10/12=0.8333’ Pi x radius squared x length = log volume 3.14 x 0.833’ x 0.833’ x 12’ = 26.16 cuft per log... 26.16 cuft x 7 logs = 183 cuft of solid wood That works out to about 2 full cords... not sure what your definition of a face cord is, but a conventional cord is 128 cuft including wood and air... 90 cuft plus or minus of which is generally wood..
Depends on how long you cut the wood and how wide your chain is... but yeah, for 16” wood, roughly 6......
I burned over a cord of pine last year (along with oak and maple so not exclusively) and it goes quick.
