Any one of you mess with older ish scooters? I was given a 1984 Honda Spree with the NQ50 engine from my job. It had been abandoned on the street, we towed it in and it sat. I immediately told my boss i wanted it.. he immediately said no way and that it needed to be destroyed. I hid it... We eventually filed for the junk title for it so it could legally be disposed of. Well... The state of illinois issued the business a clean title for it. So its mine now.. lol Ive got about $150ish invested in it right now, not including a title transfer which im not going to do until we move to Indiana at the end of August. I'll need to get some pictures up of it. Been a decent little project. Last time it was registered was like 1990 or something. Anyone else tinker with older scooters?
The Honda Gyro was the shizzy.... my brother had one. Same engine. Otherwise, no- I don’t personally mess with them. Have fun, don’t go racing it!
I helped a friend kill one of those back in the early 90s. Black with purple trim. It didn't fare too well on our homebuilt motocross track. We had more fun than should be allowed with that thing.
Indiana will hit you with a $5 per year late fee all the way back to the last year it was plated for it not being registered. Might be cheaper to get a plate in Illinois before you move.
Lol it has a white honda basket that bolts to the rack. I removed it back when I had both side skirts removed.
Nice. Reminds me of a '79 Yamaha QT50 I rammed around on a few sleeps ago.... Wish I still had one now to putz on. Hmmmm. Getting me thinking.
They are fun! I'm getting interested in engine swaps and what not. I'll probably be picking up a 2nd scooter of some kind for the wife eventually. Scooter life! I just moved the spree to our new place in Indianapolis last night. I havent riden it in quite awhile though.
