It looks great Mag Craft and you can trust that unless you point out the mistakes, no-one but the most critical will ever notice them.

I do not get to excited since it will be outside all the time in the weather, but it is a learning process and the stain is a type of educator. Thanks.

Thanks. I used a small coffee can for that design.

Life is a learning process in itself. I just wish more people would study a bit more often.
Not that I'm perfect in any way.

These look great! I think you’ve got an eye for this sort of thing. Careful who you show it to all of your friends are going to want one now. :)

I really like how you tapered the leg on the bench to angle the back - nice touch. You make a tapering jig for the table saw?

No jig. Just took some measurements with a protractor and then clamped some pieces in place to see how it felt.

Made another little item to go with the table and bench. For my cigar time.

    Nice flame grain.

Question for you milling guys. Does the bar oil get into the wood and cause problems with finishing quality? I imagine some plane or sand the finished surface.

Is that big leaf maple? It’s beautiful!

fishingpol no need to worry about the oil - at all. That is, unless you’re “recycling” your used motor oil.

For milling I like to “cut” my bar oil about 1/3 with ATF or diesel. You don’t have to worry about the thinner oil “flinging” off the end of the bar because you’ll be lucky if any oil even makes it that far after being dragged through a wide cut.

Shawn I found a big round at the compost pile and when I cut it up that is what I found. I think it is maple but do not know for sure.

I have made 3 things with it so far.

Nice looking table. Simple, functional and the live edges make it unique. I like it!

Thanks. I have some more wood that I have milled and I am going to make another bench for a charitable auction that will be coming up.

Wonderful bench and table. I also have been eyeballing the chainsaw mills and hope to acquire one soon.
