Thanks Chvymn99 , you just named it....The Shed it will be. I rolled it this morning and took some rocks to the other property. The reason I took some time off (posted on two other sites) was the Mod got involved with changing a thread title to bash the local Mahindra Dealer and Mahindra. The local dealer is a cousin of my better half but that didn't make a difference, some of us left another site because of what some Mods were doing, I just thought this wouldn't happen here. Getting back to wood, I have some Ash trees that need felling before the EAB get them so that will happen this fall.
They worked through some very hot days building The Shed. The only side I worry about is the east side but I've been grading the hill on that side down each day/week. Next year the gutters go on so that will help out big time. I think the contractor did a good job but time will tell. I'll need to look at some picture dates but I think he finished the build in about two weeks.
Thanks Hammy, I won't miss covering the tractor or putting the battery maintainer on outside this winter. All our wood has been covered for this year so after I finish the grading around the garage, it will be time for splitting and stacking.
I finally got the roller out and rolled around the new garage, I'll rake it again then seed it again with grass & clover and rake and roll it again. The last picture (not good) I was taking some rocks to another area for future use this fall.
Because it would've taken too much time if we got the sand from our lot, we ended up bringing in ten loads so that was the only price increase we had from the original estimate, I think the total for the sand was $1100.00.
Glad you are back and posting. You reminded me I need to install the quick connects for the battery tender before it gets too cold. I did not enjoy shoving my cold hand in between the wires to get the clips on last year. I have the quick connect on my atv and it’s so much nicer
I'll be doing our quick connect in September but first the grading, next will be some insulation and then the OSB. I did some digging and some grading around the garage, attached are some pictures. I started taking away the small downward slope to the garage in pic 1732, the water should run around the back to the low spot in 1799. Every rain we get shows me something different but by the end of this week it should be done.
I didn't notice any provisions for electricity? When I had my building put up, I ran a 2 inch PVC pipe in which I put electricity and phone (1991) In ground lines are so much better.
Thanks milleo , the boat will be on the other side with the backhoe stored in the middle for the winter along with some other stuff.
Wish I had put a bigger door on mine....And I had inslopeing land so I put gutters up and it worked like a charm....
Looks nice and ship shape! Everything graded away from the structure. Nice tractor also. Looks happy in the new barn!
Thanks metalcuttr. Just when I think I'm done grading, it rains pretty hard and I move the small trench on the east side further away from the garage. The tractor was two years old around August 9, it's a plain Jane (gear shift) but with 630 hours on it the only thing they did was a code update (second week we had it) and they put a inline restrictor coming out of the radiator to raise the engine temp.....did the trick.
I'm still in recovery mode from all the pine we cleared, wearing my cutting boots did something to my left heel so I'm back in sneakers until I start cutting. It feels like a real bad bruise.
I know how you feel, I did the same thing to my heel years back, took a few weeks to feel back to normal. Take it slow and get better.
