today at a moving sale that looks to be in great shape. Asking $450. It's a 14" Delta "Platinum Edition" (I know just marketing), that isn't missing the fence, and is on a movable stand (like the one I got for my TS).
Just wondering what you guys think of the price, so calling Shawn Curry , yooperdave , and anybody else who wants to chime in.
Sale ends Sunday, and I left my # in case it doesn't sell. Lady might take $350-400.
    About 5 miles from me.

I have a couple of them including a platinum edition one. The platinum edition includes the enclosed stand with 1HP motor, 6" riser, mobile base, Carter guides, fence assembly and a Carter quick release. We use ours every day on aluminum and plastic. That price is not bad at all, at least in my area.

If it's in good shape $400 would be a good buy. Maybe not a wicked good deal, but I would feel good about getting it at that price.

As for the old craftsman, re-pulley it and use it for metal?

Around me that's a good price. For 5 miles away the price would also offset the hassle for me at least.
But.... depending on how busy the moving sale/area is I might wait to see how low she would go.

Decided to go back before someone else snagged it.
I asked how low she'd go, and after a couple seconds of thought, she said $350. I pushed it a bit and got it for $325.
    SOLD!
MUCH heavier than the Craftsman, so that was fun. Needs a bunch of cleanup. Looks like it's a '99 model year. Model #28-255

Oh, couldn't find the miter gauge, but I'm sure I can find one somewhere.

:binoculars:I do believe that this thread belongs in the “Land of Make Believe” forum. Grizzly Adam can you move it there? It seems that papadave has failed miserably to provide the requisite pictures :ithappened:that would prove that this wasn’t just a fantasy about which he’s been sitting on the couch thinking about for a while.....

Uh, uh, uh,..........the dog ate the pics. :hair::whistle:
Gimme' at least a little credit, I DID actually THINK of taking pics.
I've been watching tube vids on how to set up a bandsaw, and such. Having only had one bandsaw many many many moons ago, I don't remember any of that stuff.

Well Sir... Now you are going to provide pictures from a CT Scan or an MRI with contrast of your ventrolateral frontal cortex to prove that that specific thought process did indeed occur..... otherwise, THAT never happened... or you could just take the easy route and provide pics of the bandsaw.

    That's what I thought.:D
As I was taking pics, I also noticed this one will handle a 3/4" blade...........
Guess I'm goin' shopping for blades now. There's what looks to be a 3/8" on there, and a couple of maybe 1/8" hanging on the cover.
Thanks for the links lukem .

Very nice, and the price is pretty good for a '99 saw. What size motor does it have? Heavy weight is good for less vibration.

The Alex Snodgrass video on tuning a bandsaw on Youtube is very good.

I kept my 12" Delta bandsaw just for the smaller blades for tighter radius cuts. The new to me Rikon is just about used for re-saw only.

Have fun with it and let us know how it works out for you.
