I hope to somewhat resemble that remark soon. :) The trailer can take a beating and is much cheaper to replace than the bed or any part of a newer truck. It's also easier to unload the trailer than a pick up.

We were surprised when we started to receive some rain. Then it started pouring. Ended up with over 1 1/2" of it. Good, we needed it. Then after the rain it began cooling off. Really feels nice out there now. Presently it is 70 degrees and will be into the 50's soon. Good sleeping weather.

Yes it's a huge problem. My brother that lives in Portland OR said that there's been major air quality issues and that people are strongly urged to not go outside. With as hot as it's been up there, and the fact that not many have AC in their homes, it's a bad combination.

Yes, that's about what we got. 1.6" or so, but we got over an inch last Friday as well. We had great sleeping weather last night. We left the where's open for it's say the first time in 2 weeks, if not more.

We were able to let the AC unit take a break, which will be a little help when the electricity bill arrives.

    sorry, just my opinion.....

But if you're going to use a trailer to avoid beating up a truck box, get a car or suv. What's the point of the truck bed if it won't be used? I can understand a trailer if the bed is already full, or you need far more capacity than the truck can carry, but these people going around with an empty truck and a 4x6 trailer that probably has less weight capacity than the truck? Just don't get it. I can't say ive ever seen a truck bed destroyed to the point of needing replaced simply from being used the way it's meant to?

My great uncle next door has a little utility trailer, I suppose it's a 5x8 or so, not really sure exactly, but he hauls it with a Saturn vue, previously a sunfire and an older sunfire before that. Uses it more than a lot of people use a truck. I have a truck cause it's easier than dealing with a trailer.

Ahh, but you are not taking into account resale value of said truck.

While I would agree with you (I intentionally kicked and dented my brand new truck in 1990, wife #1 thought I was insane. I told her it's a truck and will be used as such.)

I dont mind at all if previous owners baby the vehicle, better for me.
