Few of you know I’m moving, yes I moved some of my firewood. Maybe around 3 cords of it to my parents (thank goodness). I also sold some that helped pay for my daughters birthday party stuff and couple other things. Then I asked my lady and her boys for help moving some more wood that I had not cut up. This wood was from the recent tree cutters that gifted it to me because I was not much more than 500 feet away from their cut. Limbs that weren’t cut and some big random rounds. I thought of the yard waste at the dump but then thought better than that and knew that the Tacoma Power Station leaves wood when they trim around town. So I thought why not give back? Took two trucks loaded up and dropped off wood. I hate to get rid of wood but if someone else keeps warm with it, then that’s more than enough. Probably have one more load I could bring because I just cannot bring it all. No pictures for this sort of thing but as wood hoarders, it’s hard to see it go to be composted than used as heat. Along with some other stuff, looks like this wood hoarder is on hold.... that’ll be all.
X2!!! Best of luck moving FatBoy85, was down this road few years back not always easy but it will all come together . Hec I just saw a property just the other day that made me wanna throw my house up for sale.
I hope things work out well for you FatBoy85. It is not easy seeing your hard work go down the road, and relocating woodpiles can add a lot of work and stress. We may be in the same boat as far as moving. Most of our wood will go to family and close neighbor. Even the prime 5 year seasoned wood for the mud oven. I need the wood piles out of the equation to focus on other things. In the grand scheme of things, none of this is important. We are looking to move to a quieter area where we can stretch out a little bit more. Plans are in place for the next woodburner next year. I'm actually looking forward to picking ideas off the net and bring a plan to reality.
Good luck with the move FatBoy85 Glad you remembered about the drop off point rather than sending it to the compost pile.
You do a great job not selling yourself short, at least what you have is a plan along with small expectations for later. There’s always will be another time for wood! I’m just glad that I can afford to do some of the things in the hoarding business and know that I have squared away that pile because it is for the most part dry. With house size presumably going up, I’m not sure it will be enough but based on what I did last year, that was more than enough. Good luck to you and your move. May it be stressfree as possible!!!
FatBoy85 and fishingpol, don't you two be strangers here, just because you're on hiatus from hoarding!
Good luck with your move gentleman. We made a big move 3 years ago and it is was well worth all the hassle.
That’s the last thing on my mind. In fact I’m probably fixing to drive my dad nuts with the chainsaw work I’ll be doing at his place haha!
Well Ladies and Gents, this whip is taking a trip with some wood she’s probably cut in her heyday. Wouldn’t be right to leave this thread without a picture of the stuff we’re moving with.
I'll certainly be around in various threads. I'll be hoarding in no time if we make the move. Lots of wood on the ground and some trees overhanging that need work. There will be a lot more space to stack wood too.
Nice saw. I was gonna mention that if it's just for display perhaps metalcuttr could personalize it a bit. But I think it's best left in tact.
I might have to ask him about that but certainly he knows he did something swell for me but I haven’t shared it yet since it’s not been put together. Will definitely need to give him the recognition he deserves, things have been flying like crazy for the last few months......putting it lightly...
Good luck with the move FatBoy85 ! You did a solid to make sure the firewood will be put to good use.
FatBoy85 you did well my friend, and it will be rewarded someday. God loves a cheerful giver and honors those with a humble heart. We are in the midst of moving ourselves, from a house I built from the ground up for the past 23 years so I know how heavy your heart is. In the past two years I have been in a terrible logging accident, gotten cancer twice, had to sell off my heavy equipment, logged 70 acres of my wood lot, had the money from that wood stolen from me, was forced to sell my entire flock of sheep, lost a baby to miscarriage, and now I am moving to a different house just so I can get a little more income...all that to learn an important lesson; God looked down at a humbled me and said, "Okay, now I can work with you." My greatest hope is that people look at me as an example, and do not look down in pity upon me or their own situations, but rather look up. He can work with that.
That’s all I hope for bud! What went around for me will go for someone else and go around a few more times I’m sure. Thanks
X2 ^^ They say that God doesn't give more than you can handle. I've questioned that logic in the past, but as we all can see, I'm still here.
