Was outside for just a few minutes yesterday working on the elec. line trench and when I came in, I was the same for a while. Good thing I had turned on the air earlier.:dex:
Today is pretty muggy, but so far it's cooler. Might be able to leave the air off until later in the day today, if it goes on at all.

It's not too hot here, but stupid humid out. I haven't left the house yet, about to make a dump run in a few. Supposedly its going to be nicer tomorrow, hopefully get some splitting and stacking done.

Uh, yeah. It's humid here. I just got done cleaning up some trash trees trying to grow in my shrubs, and a broken ash branch from the ash I'll have to take down this fall/ winter:(. I had to go inside after those tasks as I was sweating.

    Tomorrow is a boat day.

I know we have discussed this before. But these steel carports/barns/sheds are the best value in structures one can get. The total install and purchase cost is much cheaper than you can buy material yourself then you would have to build it. If you want a concrete pad just pour that prior to their speced size.

His is the more expensive (just marginally ) then the standard kind with rounded up error corners and not the eaves like his has. They will build HUGE structures , but I am not sure how the giant ones compare to pole barn costs?

I used Carolina Carport it's based out of NC. There is Eagle Carports and several other ones in this area as well. Others after a quick Google search is Arrow, all steel carports, Cardnal..there are tons Google returns.

There are many different manufacturers. There all about the same, prices can actually vary widely. Some have a few better standard features for the same intro price. Do your homework, talk to others, get quotes and call 3 or 4 of them.

We have a thermostat and our AC stays on all the time to keep the house constant. It runs all hours of the day and night

This window unit has a temp setting, and an ECO mode to try keeping a set temp.
I turn the whole thing off before bed once the outside temp gets cool enough, then open a bunch of windows. Next year, the central AC is going in. Shouldn't take brother and I more than a couple hours max.
SC is a whole different world than up here, and I'm glad I don't need to run the AC full time :)emptywallet::emptywallet::emptywallet:). The trade is having to heat the house in winter, so there's that.

I DROOL over metal buildings, just too vulnerable here without substantial $$$$$$ upgrades.

Oh yea window units...whole different story. You really go broke down here with those. I grew up in a house without central AC. We had window units and tried to wait as late in day as possible to turn them on, then cut them off before bed.

My farm house dont have them. Half the time even this time a year I don't use it at all, the other time I cut it on before bed and leave it on all night.

I was there a few weeks ago and it was 87f (at 11pm)in the house with the doors open and few windows open that it has. Growing up I would stay there for weeks with my grand parents...there was not even a widow unit in the house .

I forget what the certified ones are rated for we'll over 100mph winds. Some of the triple wide ones they list are rated for 170mph winds. Now the cost is way more than the basic ones but still really not bad. I have had my carports up and in the 10 years of the old one I lived here and the 4 years old or so the new one is they have easily seen 60+ mph winds.

So far here I had the opposite when I redone my house the old furnace and central untit was shot and couldn't afford to install all new so I installed a 12 k ac unit in the wall for main part of the house and a 5 k in my room so far so good and it gets soupy here just like where your at and so far it's been cheaper on us run these than the old unit

Got my lawn mowed, and the 4runner washed and vacuumed.

My Ariens gt17 is still down, but I plan to have the Honda repower by fall. My neighbor lets me borrow his couple year old simplicity conquest with a 53" deck, until I get mine going.

I'm now grilling brined chicken drumsticks, that I'll put BBQ sauce on.
