No rain until just a wee bit ago and then very little. We've being missed again. But the humidity is so thick you can almost cut the air out there. Yucky for sure.

Waiting on a load of stone mix so I can finish up getting ready for the new barn. Also getting more crushed asphalt for the driveway and lane.

I had one of those, first summer home from freshman year, and my last summer in my home town, thought I would get a head start on switching majors after reality struck between student loans and working 3/4 time the first year, a 6 year degree was no longer in my cards. Her introduction the first day of class was that we (students) were victims of easy grading. o_O She did not know anyone in her classroom, much less I was from a totally different university. STUPID.

When I was going to college, I got all A's....except for one. I did have a heart to heart talk with said instructor and she broke down and gave me an A-. That was the only grade I got other than an A. STill ticked me off.

I took my family up to my parents and had subs for lunch from Jreck’s. (A good submarine shop in this area.)

My parents were glad to see their granddaughter all the way from South Carolina. Then we came home and went for a walk through the trails of our property to try to burn off a few calories. And show my daughter some of the work I’ve been able to get done since the last time she was home. It was a nice walk. I just went through with the brush hog and cut it all pretty short. Still plenty of work to do on the existing trails to smooth out some rough spots, and to open several new trails over the next year. But it’s coming along. Slow but sure.

Got 'im fired too...that's how I found out that he doesn't pass anyone on the 1st try...I went to take the test the second time at a truck driving school/exam station...the examiner saw "Super Troopers" name on my paperwork from before and he laughed...said "yeah, he used to work here, but we had to fire him, he wouldn't pass anybody!"

I've had people do that to me too. It's not helping at all, but they don't know any better. Once I explained that putting tools away while I'm still using them ends up delaying the project, then it stopped.

It's a big pet peeve of mine.

On the fence about selling my log splitter.

Its new, ive cycled the ran 3 times.
Once with no log, and twice with the same log to split it into 4 pieces.

I dont use it any more and am not sure when i will use it again.
Dont want to sell it, but i dont need it currently.
Splitters are easy to come by when the time comes.

I'm not building it. Actually is one of those steel carports you see for sale all over. It will be similar to the other one we put up except for size. The one we have now is 18 x 31 and the new one will be 24 x 26 but much higher. The drive in door will be 10 x 10 so I can get the tractor in with the ROPS up and the backhoe on. As it is now, I have to have the ROPS down to get in. If backhoe is on, I just stretch it out behind me and leave the door open.

    New barn-2.JPG
That is what we have now. It started as a carport. We just enclosed it, added doors and windows and bingo, there you have it. There is an overhead door in both ends. So it is used both as a garage and barn. Putting up the new one will free up some room in this one. Cost is much lower than a pole barn.

I did start the log splitter yesterday and split a few logs but there was so much water dripping off me that I simply quit, came to the house and took a cold shower. The splitting can wait.
