Long day yesterday as I drove a couple of hours and did a First Aid course. Rewarded myself with a new desktop computer at the end of the day and then drove home. I am good now for certification for three years. This should be my last time to take the course. They keep changing the protocols every time I take it but it seems to be more standardized now.

I was reading about everyone's summer weather. We have certainly hit a stretch of good summer weather without that cold westerly in the afternoon. Unfortunately although we have had the best summer weather probably in the province, it means that the rest of the province is scorching and dry except where they have been hit with mudslides from the rain from thunderstorms which sparked more wildfires. Up until last weekend, we probably have the best air quality in the province as well. There has been enough fog in the morning to knock down the smoke haze.

And now there are only four more days left of my summer holiday!

    Can somebody help me here?

    First I’m in Michigan...
I know for a fact that the box on the side of my house is my property... Been down that road....

Second they flatly refuse to remove the cable from my house and claim it’s illegal for me to take it down.

I call BS it’s on my house the pole is on the opposite side of the street and I’m sure they want it left so they can use it later if I want their service.. I do not want there service again it took 5 days of blood boiling argument to get them to close my account. I will never use them again! We where month to month no contract.

What happens if I take it down and leave it at the pole?

I had world war three with a provider about 8 years ago and ended up calling the attorney generals office. It got resolved but I came out knowing less than we when I called. It was a pretty grey area on weather it was right of way or not. They are considered a utility however they didn’t have rights on our property from what I could tell.

I just don’t want to end up having another 6 month battle over a fricken line on my property. They absalulty drive me crazy it may be one of the worst companies I’ve ever dealt with hands down... There retention department are straight up scum... I don’t say these things often but after 5 days of trying to close my account and then being threatened with everything from legal action to fines for breaking contracts THAT WE NEVER HAD even being told to suck it up because people have it worse in other countries ( yes that happened )ya I’m done with them...

Probably nothing. Just disconnect it from your house, coil it up, and zip tie it to the pole. That's what I did with my land line phone cable. I didn't have a beef with the TelCo, just got tired of looking at it. Nobody's said nothing.

If anybody asks about it, just say "I don't answer questions".

New desktop? Good for you:), I recall you mentioning some computer problems recently. School starts here a week from today, so 4 week days left for her too. I'll be cheering you on when you finally decide to retire.

Last day of work for the week wrapping up soon. Going camping tonight if the weather cooperates, but doesn't look good. Might head out first thing in the AM if it doesn't.

I'll be off the grid for the next few days. Y'all be good.

So what happens if you just leave it alone? So long as you are not charged it should not hurt. Don't like the looks? How about making something to fit over it? But I understand how you feel and probably don't want reminders of the aholes. :heidi:

Figuring we were about to get some nice rains, we planted oats Tuesday. Forecast was for Wed night through Thursday night or maybe Friday morning early. Today was supposed to be the biggest day for rain and 1/2" to 3/4". That suddenly decreased to up to 1/4". So far, nothing. Does not look good for getting any either. Sad. Especially when the poor folks out east are growing mold on their feet from having to walk through so much water and mud.

But the nice part is that it is cooler today, thankfully, and cloudy. That is good because the dewpoint is almost up to the temperature. If the sun comes out we'll be cooked for sure. Don't really want to run the air conditioner any more this summer either as we've ran it much more than we ever have in the past. We prefer having the doors (actually just one sliding glass door) and windows open. But the air is there if we need it.

I'm trying to get some projects tied up before my husband comes back from Colorado tonight. My largest piece of used rubber roofing is tailor made for my maple stack. IMG_20180816_34745.jpg
And I finished a rick (!) of birch, but I still have some left to split. There's a little elm on the bottom that needed a home. IMG_20180816_27283.jpg
Now I just have to clean house. jmCnm7i.jpg

You can post pics on CL from your cell, unless you have none of it and it's at another location or you don't have a smartphone I guess?

I post everything I sell with multiple pics all from my cell.

    Great job Midwinter ..
I can relate to cleaning, my wonderful mother in law came in Tuesday.. 1300 square feet of new sheet rock, in various stages of completion. My beautiful wife spent 2 days cleaning so her mom could come clean it again.. :picard:

I'm mudding and sanding another room right now:bug:

I think I would wait to clean until all the sanding was done... I can live with a fair amount of squalor. 2745811589d32fb9ddbaf9e58630280d.jpg

My weekend spent removing wall paper, painting and laying carpet. My mom moved in and we remodel a bedroom for her. I think it turned out OK.
    DSCN0529.JPG
Spent the last 2 days putting her stuff in the room.

Went to the garden for the first time in 6 days. I swear the tomatoes were ripening faster than I could pick them. I picked 1 row and brought them it to the house. Picked the other row and turned around. I think more ripened in the first row.
Got 6 quarts of spaghetti sauce canned up with just as many tomatoes to can tomorrow.

Need to get the yard baled sometime.
