I can work in this heat.
    I just take breaks.
    Right now I'm on a mid-Summer break.

You would have a real fight on your hands getting that cant away from me. It works much better than the new ones I have seen. It is very sharp and it take a real bite. It was busted up when I got it. There is a railroad spike expoxied in the middle and welded to a metal strap. The U clamp reinforces the handle as well as a couple bolts fixing a crack.

After I folded my knees up behind me and had a few more knee injuries . Getting in and out of my F350 was a nightmare. I got an 8" folding plastic step. Mostly to get on and off the 966 I was running at the time. It worked Great ! Was rated at 300 lbs. I used it for a couple years till it wore out and busted.
I tied a 7' piece of zing it throw line on it so I could pull it up into the cab and put it back down when I had to climb down . It was only 16 bucks. Worth every penny. My knees are healed up pretty good now so I don't use a step on most things.
But I do use a short step ladder to get on and off the 400 excavator at work. The first step is a doosy.

For sure. I like the way you fixed it. That will no doubt outlast you. I think what happened to ours is that I had a crew in here cutting and right after they were gone I could no longer find the cant hook. Scum, they are.
