Love to hear the truck's doing good. Mine kept me in good shape today getting on I-70, but it's still getting broke in. Only -200K .

I was in town last week and noticed ART (first three letters from the long time Colo license plate when it was ours) pulling out. I honked and waved happily to whoever was driving it, sunglasses, beard and cap on, turns out the office manager grew a beard, it was him. I've asked a couple times for a pic of the odometer but it never happens. Still fun to know its up and around :)

Glad to hear it's still going strong! I saw my old 99 F-250 V10 on craigslist for parts or repair last summer. It lived a hard life after I sold it at 1.5 years old. I was tempted to buy it back, but thankfully I reconsidered.

I thought you said that you recognized the first three letters of the plate from when you owned it. At least that's how I read it.

We sold our 99 Toyota Avalon 6 years ago and it had 240k miles on it. I saw it a few weeks ago, it still looks good.

Thats nothing for Toyota's!! Both our daily drivers are about 230,000 miles. I drive an 01 Highlander and my wife drives an 04 Sequoia. Those first Gen Sequoia's are one of the toughest most durable vehicles they made. The 4.7 is a tough long lasting motor. Lots of them with 400,000+ miles on them. Low wear motors.

The trucks name is from old license plates, but it's not hard to recongnize, ridiculously long, cracked bug guard, and that day the company magnetic sign on door :)

    So:
1 ART is the name you gave the truck and it is from the first three letters of a license plate it wore in Colorado ?
    2. It was being driven by an office manager you know who has grown a beard at some point ?
    3. You have asked for pics of the odometer
    4. Seeing it now and then is a heart warming cheap thrill ?

You are right. There are over half a dozen Tundras with the original 4.7 2UZ-FE engines and transmissions that have gone over 1,000,000 miles. Toyota has bought several of them back to break them down. There is a youtube video of the process. The engineers who dissected the first one and said all mechanical engine parts passed specification parameters for a new 4.7 coming off the line.
