Well this morning I finally got around to stacking some of my pile and got another Rick stacked so far i have 19 Rick and counting
Welcome Firefighter .. Glad to have you with us. Mike was making a joke but since your new. I will throw in a little back story. We love pictures, so there is a teasing amongst us of "pics or it didn't happen!" So if you have questions throw them out.. Oh pics can be anything, stacks, saws, splitters, pets, whatever you got that you want to share. Little over 6 cord. Good job
No basement here I'm stacking wherever I can find a spot to put it if I keep going I will have a wood fence all around my yard
Firefighter are those rows on ground? not trying to be critical, but you will find your wood dries better and less rot on bottom rows if you can get it off ground. I used to use landscape timbers and if I didn't weed wack you would never know they were there!!
Yes alot of mine are unfortunately I haven't been able to get any more skids or landscape timbers here lately by next year I'm hoping to be better prepared for stacking wood
WElcome to the forum Firefighter. Looks like you are a hoarder! If you can't get skids or timbers, the next time you go out into the woods, pick some straight limbs or just simply cut some saplings to lay down. That also is the least expensive way to go. We have done that for years and it works very nicely.
I really appreciate all the good information here I take all I can get I grew up with wood heat in a old 2 story farm house and the stove was a smoke dragon and we used kerosene heaters also to keep warm this will be a all knew learning experience for me with the new style epa stoves with secondary burns plus a really well insulated house and I can't wait to fire her up
As Backwards Savage mentions - You can just see the saplings under my racks I should have gotten thicker saplings, but so long as there is air under them, you are good to go.
Welcome Firefighter! You've now taken your next step in your addict..., I mean hobb..., I mean work... I mean... Ok addiction. Whhhooooo boy! Thems is some good lookin' stacks!
Greetings from Pennsylvania Firefighter ! Welcome to FHC. Looks like you have a great start on your wood.
