Similar here. I try to pay $275 year round, the summer months are less, but the winter months can be far more, it helps not being socked with the really big bills in the winter.

I have a dehumidifier running in the basement nonstop in the summer.

When we leave the house I’ll raise the ac a couple degrees. Amazing what a small change does and the system doesn’t spend hours trying to hold a temp in the high point of the day.

No gas here, all appliances are electric. We run A/C up to 10 days a year max. Opposite humidity here, I struggle to keep it above 20%, I gave up on humidifiers and use an aquarium instead. 40 years in Colorado (low humidity but warmer than here) we used swamp coolers, they rock!!!!! Too bad you can't use them out there. Many reasons why, we still need space heaters in a couple places in the winter at times too. What I do know is that months I run the clothes dryer alot makes an increase in the bill over other months. It is what it is....

I had a small rant post on penny pinchers thread here awhile back. Well to do man in California, two wives and kids over the last 50 years live in a HOT house in the summer, and a COLD house in the winter. Not worth it.

Grandson Landon has graduated from simply sitting on the tractors to asking for them to be running. Every time I move it to low idle he cranks it back up again!

as soon as he sits on it he says "tractor start" and points to the sediment bowl for me to turn the gas on. Fortunately he cannot get it in gear. But I did have to put the key for the Cub Cadet mower up high so he could not turn it on and kill the battery.

I had a fabulous lunch with my mother and sister. The weather couldn't have been better and the place we went was perfect. A typical Maine lobster shack right on the water. Outside seating on picnic tables. A little pricey, but the tourists were lined up 25 deep at the window waiting to order when we left. A 1 lb. lobster, ear of corn and a small order of steamers was $25.00. I knew the corn wouldn't be edible so I ordered a la carte and got a 1 1/4 lb. lobster and a double order of clams for $30.00. I don't use butter on either the clams or lobster and told the woman at the window to give me an extra cup of clam broth instead. She looked at me like I had 1 big eye in the center of my forehead. Round 2 Sunday. I'm picking up 40 lobsters at $3.95/lb. right off the boat.

The only way to get fresh seafood is to buy it off the boat or catch it yourself. Spent plenty a summer afternoon catching supper.

Well, Ill try to keep it short. Insurance company totaled my bike. intension was to buy it back and fix it. However the shop its at appeared to get cold feet and said snow would be on the ground before its done. That after getting all the towing and storage money. And I know these guys. I went to another bike shop ( who told me this was going to happen ) and after looking at the pics of the bike and going over some finances and he told me to take the entire settlement and forget about fixing it. Frame could have issues and he wouldn't know until at least the front end was off and maybe not till it was done and I was riding it and noticed it didn't handle properly. I loved this bike. All We needed to do was get the rear suspension replaced and I was going to do that this winter. Now it looks like we will be getting another bike and starting over. I may peddle a car or truck I have and buy a newer bike. Either way I'm not happy with the body shop or the insurance company due to their lack of professionalism.

Well that was a huge disappointment. Guess we know which bike shop will get your business in the future.

We have loads of mushrooms this year. Tons of pinecones too, more and earlier than usual. I think that means we're going to have a mild winter. Even if it doesn't, I'm still going with us having a mild winter. Something to drink to.
