I got lucky and scored 6 free ibc totes. Im getting closer to having enough totes to hold 2 years worth of wood. We just got our IS installed and I’m not sure how much wood we will use a season but excited to find out!!! Looking forward to winter!

They sell for 50-60$ a tote for food grade. I found some last winter 20$ that had molasses in them. They were a mess to deal with but I dealt with it.

    Free is best!

Great deals Slocum, Molasses may be a sticky gooey mess but at least it washes out with hot water. (And smells good) The IBC's I get have a food additive that is somewhat insoluble in water making cleaning difficult.

Do you cut the bottle to use as a roof?

How much does each hold? 1/3 face cord, 1/2 face cord?

    Welcome aboard ckarnes
It's a great site, with some great people.

I'm not sure how much each holds, but a few members use them, they'll let you know for sure.

If wood is stacked level with the top rail they hold 1.1 cubic meters which I believe is 1/3 of a full cord or 1 face cord. I had never used the cord measure until I joined this club, down here we measure firewood by the cubic meter or by metric ton.

damm that's a lot of wood amateur cutter. I have somewhere about that much out the back but for us it would be a 12 year plan!

It figures. Even England does not use the English system of measurement now...
