I have an old catalytic heater and double stove that was under the camper seat and hard to get to. plus the back is in bad shape to dig around. also have a few heaters and single stoves that are not Coleman.
If you look at the base, depending on the age, there should be a number on the left and right. Left is month and Right is year.
Thanks, i'll check tomorrow, don't think there real old, I bought em in the 80's probably. maybe 90's too
New to the whole gas thing but got a Coleman 502 with the heat drum from 5/68 for free. Works and seems to be in decent shape for 60 years old this May. I want to get a few 200A's and maybe some others in the near future. Camping season is around the corner.
I used mine two weeks ago while ice fishing. It heats well and is easier to pack than the 2 burner stove. It runs well and heated the soup just fine. An aluminum pan would have been quicker though.
Some great lanterns,,oldcolemanparts.com can get you a genny, or there are a few threads on rebuilding the gennys. I've rebuilt several gennys and all work as they should,,,,of course eye wear choose!
Ok guys I need some help I picked up two 220f a 68 and a 71 they both hold and build pressure. The 68 works just fine but the 71 seems plugged I dont hear the hissing sound when I open the valve guessing it just needs a cleaning. But the real question is what model is the silver one? 228b? the bottom is next to impossible to read, the left side had a 6 and the right side had a 10. Any help would be much appreciated
I dug out my Dad's ice fishing heater the other day. Coleman 502 build date 5-73. It hasn't been run in years. It was half full of white gas but the gas didn't smell foul. Soaked the little leather on the pumper with 3 in 1 oil, took it to the shed and used the blow gun on it for about a minute (cobwebs and some black cooties came out) and the lil bugger fired right up! Nice perfect blue flame. Now, what do I do with it? I guess I should just put it back on the shelf,,,
I picked up this model 400 stove yesterday. It was free, set off to the side at a recycling pile. It is just about mint except where it was dropped and there is a small ding in the tank. It holds pressure fine.
Just playing around doing a prop picture for a flea market we have once a year in town called Junkfest. I am going to set a booth up for the first time. On Facebook if you want to see a couple prop pics look up Kamp Dakotah Creations. This is my end table made from a jerry can and cable spool.
Ok guys, Dad has one just like this and today I snagged this one for $10! What fuel? Where to find new mantels? What to watch out for? Edit to add picture
