Fail...can't figure out how to link Ebay from my phone. I will figure it out.

It's a 72" Turf Tiger (10 years old) with a 31hp Kubota that runs on gas or propane. 665 hours.

Have a scag and kubota dealer near you for parts? That's a huge deciding factor imo.

Used commercial fo sho. See the paint knocked off the front of the front casters? It bounced around in a trailer it's while life. Propane power adds even more service issues. Overpriced. Seat looks to have a suspension handle tho. I would Pass at that price. Offer $5500 and you want a gas tank.....No propane

Awful low hours for that age...unless the meter has been changed...condition looks right for the hours to me...my 2 cent

Figured out the message...asked how the gas tank got a hole, commercial or residential use, dealer or privately maintained and if he is the only owner.

Dude probably only used it twice a week. 72" mowers arent used much other than wide wide open space in the commercial world. Hence the low hours. 60" are much more versatile over the scale of various properties mowed.

It really depends on what the owner is mowing. And 72s are hard to sell for that reason brenndatomu

60" bad boy owner checking in. 31HP Kawaski, Parker pumps, and Hydrogear drives. Other than replacing a bad coil, it's been a bulletproof beast. It weight 1200lbs dry, so that tells you how much steel is in it. Air down the tires and it rides smooth....weight us your friend on rough terrain.

Good point, 72" is probably to wide for my property, I will keep that in mind. We will see what his response is.

    First response:

    Hey Brian,

I bought the mower at auction. It was owned and maintained by The city of San Marcos, TX. I think they only wanted their guys running propane for that “green city” image. Scag actually sells a ‘propane only’ kit for these mowers which requires you to chop the filler neck off of the original gas tank and place a steel plate over the existing opening in the platform that the filler neck used to protrude thru. I’ll answer other questions in separate message since word count limit.

    Response #2

I bought the mower with intent of using on my property, but it turns out to be too big to get between some of my trees, so I’ve since bought a 52” exmark instead.
Frame and wheels are original paint (slightly sun faded), but deck is much newer as they upgraded it from a 61” deck to a 72” deck at some point. (These machines were originally offered in both sizes).

I have used it twice this summer to mow my two acres. Been sitting since. You can “pay my price” of $614,306,2154 if you have questions..

Propane offers tax incentives and the green image as you said....makes sense for .gov units. Ill buy that.

But he just confirmed what I said. 72 is too big for most properties.

PASS in all caps is my advice.

My Troy Bilt (GTX20) is a Bolens design with the Kohler Command 20hp v-twin. Its been running strong for 20+ years. I don't think I could really upgrade to anything much better. This thing has a cast iron shaft-drive hydrostatic rearend. It's slow but I don't think there's any better garden tractor out there, unless I step up to 4 wheel drive. I'm hoping this unit lasts forever...thats kinda why I bought it...

as far as MTD...I don't care for anything they make...20-25 claimed hp in these tiny little machines built from tin...
and sadly, about everything you see in a big box store is about the same thing except the flashy paint and name.

Anyone looking to buy a mower nowadays better do some serious brand searching !!
