I’m in enola about 10 miles from harrisburg

I think river got to within 4 inches of some real problems. We have had over a foot of rain in the last four days, though none today yet. But it is getting dark like it’s coming again. I got one tree job in between the storms I’ll post.

Spent the last few days in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Took the ferry to Cape May, New Jersey. Saw signs for Exit 0. Must have been close to WeldrDave . Heard about flooding back in PA. I live on a ridge about a 1000 feet or so overlooking Huntingdon. Flooding is not an issue for me, but Standing Stone Creek and the Juniata River can be a problem. Just got home a few hours ago. Glad to see my town is intact. Tomorrow and Sunday are supposed to be dry and sunny. I sure hope so! My grass is getting out of control. Nothing my buddy John ( Deere) can't handle. Then it's supposed to rain every day next week. I'm more than ready for some cooler and drier autumn weather. Hang in there everybody.

Sheesh is right! Apparently you got it worse than we did. I've had 5 1/2 inches in that span. I was down towards Greg on Wednesday and he isn't kidding about the river. It was high high high.

Anyone watch ''Outdoors with the Morgans''? Mike lives some place in Pa, he does some pretty neat things on his farm. The guy LOVES to cut and stack firewood. I am not advertising for him or know him personally, i'm just curious if anyone else knows where he is, and if he's in any of the area's that are flooding.

I'm West of Harrisburg near Carlisle. We had just over 10" here. My brother is about 25 miles North of Harrisburg and got just shy of 15". He actually was unable to leave his house for a day and a half because of the flooding. He and a few of his neighbors were an island.

On the bright side. The pond is full again.

I sure do appreciate that WeldrDave ! If I had known that was where you lived I would have contacted you. We took the Cape May-Lewes ferry from Delaware to New Jersey along with my car. It was a great experience. It wasn't until we were driving around Cape may that I saw the Exit 0 signs and remembered that you said you lived there. I would have enjoyed drinking some cold beers with you. Next time brother! My cousin was in the Coast Guard stationed at Cape May back in the 1980s. I didn't get to visit him then, but we did find the Cape May Coast Guard Station. We checked out the Cape May Lighthouse and toured the town. Those old Victorian homes are neat to look at. We took a tour of the Physick Estate on Washington Street. Before we got the ferry back to Delaware we got milkshakes at the Dry Dock Restaurant and Ice Cream bar. One of the best milkshakes I ever had. If you're ever near Huntingdon, PA let me know. The beer is always cold here too. :coldone: If this rain keeps up I could put a few cold ones with your name on them in the Juniata River and in a day or two you could pick them up in Delaware Bay. Of course they would have to make it past the other FHC members who live downstream of me!:seasoned:

Marvin I hear you man! I have some chores on the "Honey-Do" list also. I feel like my garden is on steroids. Tomatoes outgrowing their cages, weeds taking over, etc. We went away for a few days and now it's like a jungle in there. Well, tomorrow, imposing my will on the garden (no mercy) will be my morning project while the grass is drying. Then cut the grass in the afternoon. Good luck with your "Honey-Do" list.

Soooooo......after the last down pour...we had a puddle of water layin on our vanity the next mornin. What the hell......looked n looked to see where it was comin from....boom....leakin out of one our receptacles right above vanity.
Apparently....it leaked where our range vent protrudes thru the roof. So much on spendin 700 bucks for the MANDATORY home inspection!!!!
The good thing is...I have a friend I knew since high school that does roofing..so monday morning we are getting material to put on a metal roof.
Several thousand bucks cheaper than anybody else....

We had a metal roof installed last year after that wicked storm came through at the beginning of May. It is so nice not having to gather up shingles on windy days (I live on a hill without anything blocking the wind). Plus it sounds cool when it is raining pretty good. The only downside is that I really have to watch myself now if I'm up walking around on the roof for some reason.

Depending on how you came down... if you went Baltimore to bay bridge way, and out 404 you drove within 5miles of my house abd about 20’ of one of my farms the deer pics I post are... its literally on 404 at MD/DE border. No building there, so I actually park on side of 404 to access it. My business is on 404 as well.
