    Got a helper this week, army buddy and his 13 yo son.. I figured out week 1 by myself would not get it done in time.. I'm moving too slow..

    Drone me nuts, but I taking time to teach son, the whys so dad can keep moving..

    The electrician that wired this house!! :eek::mad:.. Used a ground wire on 12-2 as a feed, instead of running 12-3..

    Yup I found it the hard way!!

    Bravo for teaching the kiddo, double win since dad can work faster :) If your whole house wired that way does that mean it needs to be rewired? Sorry you found out the hard way, hope your ok.

    Congrats and best of luck to you Horkn. I was in a similar situation years ago working in Philly, although I took a pay cut I actually ended up taking more money home in my pocket because I had much much less of a commute, no tolls, no parking fees, no city wage tax and probably the biggest money saver was I pay a fraction for healthcare I paid at my prior employer for my family. Also the quality of life at this job is a hands down no brainer, more vaca, more sick time, more holidays off, summer hours, etc....

    wildwest no not whole house.. I have fixed half of it.. I did pull outlet boxes and checked rest for crazy.. Good thing I bought extra sheet rock.. Oh and glad gramps was master electrician and dad taught me something..

    Only 110. Did not hurt bad.. Popped a breaker pretty quick!!:doh:

    Seems several areas are having typical August weather lately. Tis okay with me. Our good news is that 70's are predicted for our highs for the next week. Better than 80's or 90's.

    Back in January I had some shots in my neck. They usually work good but last winter it did not have much effect. Today I had some more so hoping for better luck. Have to take it easy for 2 days. Lots of work to do but it will wait.

    I got to start a thread.. But the house is "icky" sheet rock dust everywhere.. ;) my typing on phone leads to grammar and typos.

    Yup not 1 floor unwrecked!! I tried to keep it so girls had untouched levels.. But plumbing and electrical demanded it be fixed.. Before new rock..

    Well its done except for barn doors!
    The closet I started 3 years ago .. Why the wife loves me I will never know.

    Time for:drunk: wife will clean tomorrow afternoon while I go wreck an apartment..:cool:
