I agree with you on that. I only use the hammer and screwdriver when the stove if off during my weekly cleaning. It's a lot easier on the and using the hammer.

Ive never tried the ash on wet paper towel but the glass cleaner leaves behind a polished glass making it easier to clean for the next time. 6 bucks over 4 years isnt a deal breaker. Years ago, many used Magic Eraser but I found that to not work as well as the Rutland product.

BUT, I will try the ash next cleaning and see how it works out.

Heading to Boston again to see dad. He had a stroke a week ago and is now at the rehab hospital. I really hope that they can help him out as he still cannot move his right leg.

Thanks to everyone, the well wishes are much needed. At age 79, in an instant he went from complete independence, including driving, to now having to be moved around by someone else-and I mean for everything. He is much improved as his speech is back and right arm is a bit better, but he cant move himself at all due to his leg being non responsive. It will take time, perseverance and prayers for him to recover from this. damm he looks alot older now. I knew this was going to be bad when I got the call that he was taken to Mass General and not the local hospital.
