I think you are going to be happy with Pex. You need a few specialized tools, but then you are off and running. I was glad not to have all those sweat joints. Initially, we we going to do only a portion of the pipes, but ended up changing out everything. All the plumbing is new now. All new fixtures including showers, flush sinks etc. New Gas hot water baseboard heating system. New water treatment system. Cost me a whole lot more than I initially planned on.

If I ever got on it I am going to install me new tankless water heater. I got it on sale at Amazon on a deal of the day. Haven't installed it yet still sitting in the box in living room. Will install a filter before it and then put it in the linen closet which will free up the space where it's located under the stairs. Also the new location will shorten the runs for the heavy gauge wire needed for the install by 80% or so .

I had it a couple of weeks ago for a little while. But when I originally got it it had some problems that needed to be fixed in order for me to accept it off the truck. He told me he would make things right over the phone, and after a discount and promise to fix a couple things, I accepted it then. Then after running it for just a few hours I discovered a hydraulic leak. They agreed to take it back and fix everything at once and lent me a Mini-Excavator. The tractor was suppose to be back last week. WAS being the key word there. They had to order a specific Kubota part and had some kind of issue with another piece of equipment and both those pushed mine back even further. Nothing I could do but keep using the Mini. Right? :D

I removed the stumps on about 1-1/2 acres between house and pond. Then moved to the front of the property at the other end and removed stumps and rocks on about the same size piece (different shape) along the main road. Not making more pasture. These two big jobs were areas I wanted finished off so I can keep them cut with the brush hog every two or three weeks.

And being able to do them with the mini was awesome. Now I’ll go back to the trail work with the M59. I own 81 acres the camp is on and our house is on 1.2 acres which is along the main road and in the middle of, but separate from the larger camp property.

Up there you have to cut your areas with a bush hog ever 3 to 3 weeks!! Even down here in the south your not cutting much that often! Most people down he oly cut their yards every few weeks. Yall must have Supa grass!

Well, once it gets well established, if it’s getting enough rain and you want to keep it down to 5-6 inches in height. Then every 3 weeks is good.

Lately we haven’t had to cut at all. No rain for a long while! Just got some on Sunday night I think it was. And looks like we have more coming next Monday through Thursday. Now it will start growing again.

I already have a crimp tool and cutters. That's about all you need. I overbought parts to avoid multiple trips to the store. I figure I'll be about $600 into this project once I'm done.

Yea if you want the bush hogged areas that short I guess. That's about lawn territory there. I only cut my fields 1 to 3x a year depending on time and what all I am doing when I am at the farm.

Hoarders, I could use some elementary advice on a face lift for our old bathroom. Many novice questions, is there another thread I could piggy back on or should I start a new one?

NortheastAl , thank you, raynauds is one small complication of many from scleroderma, but it's a 24/7/365 pita  . Radiant flooring was in the plans for the 2014 to make this fishing shack a home for us, but labor and supplies up here are highway robbery. Seriously, it's another world out here, contractors pick and choose which jobs and when, opposite from Colorado where so many were eager and hungry for work, long story short that among so many other things were nixed, zero competition up here, ridiculous. Seinfeld Bizzaro World!

Woodwidow I'm thrilled to hear about campinspecter 's recovery :)

That is what I eventually want to keep the trails at and the finished off areas. So when I’m doing these jobs I’m trying to get them finished off nice so I’m not “finding stuff” later on with the mower. Get it done right now so I can keep them cut pretty short. We want to use trails and other finished off areas for multiple things. Walking, running, mini bike riding, horse riding, tractor riding (I likes that:D) and eventually hopefully ATV/UTV riding.

Yup. They are a dealer with 8 or 9 locations. They rent and sell. The 2’ bucket will be nice in the sand, topsoil, and clay.

Can’t wait to get three point hitch so I can do some brush hogging. There is actually a trail in there but it hasn’t been cut yet. They will be nice once they fill in after being cut several times.

They fixed the hydraulic leak, the fender, and all lights now work as well. I checked for leaks after my work today and there was none to be found. :)

Start a thread, it would keep things more clarified.

No need to piggy-back a thread, only to hear some advice to "blow it up", only to find out later they were talking about a stump, inflatable bedding, or balloons.

But, I do think "If you start it, they will come." :campfire:

I've no experience with Raynaud's so I'm of little help there.

Glad you finally got your new toy/tool to you in good operating condition Gasifier

At least you got to use the excavator in the absence. Good of them to make things right.

    So, check this out.

After work I'm heading to get gas & cig's and end up behind a rather slow moving Geo Tracker (vehicle, not human), and the backup light is on, on the passenger side.

Guy pulls into same station, so I say to him..
"Just so you know, your right backup light is on while you drive. I was behind you, figured you'd like to know."

    He says "Thanks".

His vehicle is in park, and shut off.

    What's he do?

Goes to the back of the car(?) and looks at the tail-light, then smacks it a few times.

    :rofl: :lol::loco: :crazy::wacky:

The light worked, so unless he wants to make it "not work", I just don't see how this approach fixes the issue.
    o_O

I just chuckled and carried on.

I bet the rest or most of those trees blow down if it's anything like here up there.
