If mine ever goes out I am going to get a GM performance 350 crate. There actually reasonable . Not very expensive at all on those old engines. Not much more than a rebuilt parts store motor.

Im back at the mine in the land of no trees (Canadian arctic). We're doing a midlife overhaul on a haul truck in the shop. Heres a view most people will never see. Its looking straight down the middle of the truck, minus the coolers, engine, and transmission.

A big enough turbo 4 will work well for probably 50% of the half ton owners out there.

I would imagine it would wind up pretty high and have some turbo lag. Have to have like an 8 speed transmission to keep it up in the power band when on the power .!

Oh, yeah if its turbo then it'll be fine for many people...obviously I had not heard anything about it...

I had not till now either. I just resubscribed this year to pertersons 4WOR magazine. I use to get motor trend and a few others and kept up with all that stuff 18 years or so ago. Not anymore. 4WOR covers big developments in the truck world but not an all inclusive coverage of the automotive or even truck market.

    I think it said a 2.7 turbo.

I’ve driven about every kind of heavy truck even a small Detroit 4 cylinder diesel in a semi and it did great.

I suppose it would all be in the transmission and rear for torque but I still can’t convince my brain that a truck that big will be worth the investment with such a small engine.

Hi Hoarders, what staples might I use for temp fix for both padding and then temp carpet over the top or other fasteners? Depending on things I'd like to rip it up, hose it down on the patio and return it back if needed. Cheap low pile carpet from a big box store assuming jute backing.

????? Are you wanting to staple carpet over carpet?? And then every now and then remove it to hose it off? I would not worry about staple and just throw out a big area rug or even just get a room to room section cut and throw it down, we have done that before, it works well.

Long story short, I'd like to temporarily put carpet and pad over damaged and split osb in a 1960's bathroom till it gets remodeled in a year of so. We coated it and somewhat leveled the chips that split up but vigorous vacuuming and mopping, deeper layers came off and it sucks going potty at night in sock feet. Idk, screws, nails, stapler gun, anything. I might even glue it down, but like I mentioned it's be nice to rip it up and rinse it on the patio, but also secured enough so I can run a vacuum over it.

Also, I'd like to fix the shower so I can shower in there again, our new bathroom is a jetted tub with shower head and its pretty deep, old 1960's tub is a shortie and also the depth is lower so it's easier for me to step in and out of .
