My primary problem is that the amlodipine has a 50 hour+ half life in my system so that 5 mg acts like an 8+ mg pill for me and when my bp goes high I can feel it and I lock up,movement becomes very hard and painful.

Got clouds all day and overnight but not a drop of rain that we could use

I work mon-fri and still would welcome a rainy weekend at this point. Might change someones plans but if this continues other plans of theirs may change. Like canceling a vacation because you need the $$ to drill a new well. Extreme example, and we are not even close to that yet but, it happened for many just a few years ago.

No rain or anything here at all. Was all ready for it and thunder bumpers (car was moved to the garage).

So hows everyone doing on this rainy ( at least here in PV) Sunday ? First Sunday without the scooter. Still pretty sore and bruised, skin is healing and wrist feels much better. Hand healing nicely. Going to help wifey with cleaning chores and grandboy is coming over for dinner later. Still don't have the police report from the accident and Insurance company will not even look at bike without it. eerrr.

In your situation, why not give it a try? Can't hurt, and might work out better than you think, and if not, go back to what you have now.

Finally had some good downpours, and a somewhat steady rain overnight....finally. Had virtually no real measurable rain for past month.

Things have get back to "normal" first it takes about 2 weeks for the level of amp to steady state. My 2 day perturbation haunts me for awhile and it hurts if a change doesn't keep the BP in check. Yes i'm one (rare but we exist) who can feel when the BP is wonky.

Got a good one about to hit us. Looks to be short lived, then nothing after it. Really need the rain. Haven't been out to water. My back is acting up and I have all I can do to move from my chair. 3 days like this so far.

Rain looked more impressive on the radar. Came and went in 15 min. just a light rain at that. Now the sun is back shining bright.

The one I take is "slow release , or long lasting" now, might be worth asking. I had amlopidine for a couple years when raynauds was really bad, and I too could tell when it wore off.

So, I decide to take a short bike ride and guess what, it gets darker and starts raining just as I get to the lake about 2 miles from home. Hi-tail it back home as hearing boomers in the distance. Just enough to get me wet and then stopped raining but still getting darker. Hoping for at least a quick soaking so I dont have to water later.

Checked radar. Heavy shower is north AND south of me with a nice dry line down the middle.

IF it rains at all here, its probably going to hold off here until I want to cook outside later

Getting a good chuckle - WUG says it is 80* in my town. My weather station says 89*. The station is on the shady, cooler side of the house. WUG eve says it is raining but nope, it is sunny. Wouldn't mind if it were raining, but it isn't.

Ha, went to take a screen shot and WUG updated - now it says 85* and showers in vicinity.

A 50+ hour half life beats most long lasting extended release meds. I take the extended release version of one drug because most beta blockers have a 3-4 hour half life. 99% of people can't tell if their BP goes too high.

I am on way more bp meds than most folks with hypertension. But to be dead honest, I can't tell when off. Sometimes I suspect it is when it isn't. Other times I am right. I think it is when my head is pounding that I get it right. I have taken it and got 200/120, but usually I have better control. I go a few years, then fall out of control. Don't know what we will do next time as I am at max for much of my medication.

    Can't like that one.

Like most people I can't tell when mine is high or not. Most times when it is checked I'm in the 130ish/80ish range. Doc is happy with it.
