I'm down to burning the pellet stove at camp just at night now. Won't be long it will be time to shut it down and clean it. Then leave it till next year. My first year with a pellet stove and I burn it through the worst winter we have had in a very, very long time. I do not know how much money it saved me in electricity for heating the camp this year. But I would not hesitate to say it has paid for itself in this one winter we had. The electric bills for the camp were only about 40 bucks a month in Dec., Jan.,Feb., Mar.

I'm trying to remember now. I think I have burned 4 ton through it. Cleaned the chimney twice. No, three times now.

I got mine about halfway through heating season. It paid for itself twice over compared to what the electric heat would have cost. It literally only raised my electric bill about $8 a month over what my SUMMER electric bills are. I was shocked.

Fired off the stove about 11, it was raining all morning and damp in the house. Woke up to a house at 66, and we can not have that! I was thinking about cleaning the stove up and putting her away, but I may just hold off for a while!

Stove seemed a little dirtier today for some reason. Do you guys experience this? What could cause this if there has been no change in Pellets?

Yeah! I am a horrible cook, I have zero patience for it. I burn everything, even soup once! My Hubby was not going to be home tonight so I listened to a friend from work and made a roast in the crock pot. It didn't kill anybody...yet ;)

Glass and burn chamber were dirtier today than normal. I've been burning at 4-4. When things were a lot colder I was burning at higher setting. 6-6, even 7-7 when -20. But discovered that the burn pot got clogged up quicker. I think it was too many pellets coming in at that setting.

That is funny, I also love to bake. I make one of the best Apple pies ever. (I know it makes no sense but I'm not normal I guess!)
I guess I like baking because I can do it anytime and don't need to hurry and feed the family. :)
