Wasn't me. I'll have to pick up some and start the protection of a specific ash tree. Thanks!

I never realized just how many ash trees we had around our area until they came through. Really sad to see all the dead trees.

    That's really awful.
I've yet to see them here. They could be here and is only a matter of time.

Almost all the 2 dump truck loads I got from my tree service buddy's 2 years ago was dead ash from Genoa City, Pell lake and Lake Geneva.

Zapped out an email to a NY certified arborist tonight to see what advice he can offer.

Gonna try to get a better idea on the potential cost of innoculation for some of our Ash trees.

Obviously won't be able to afford to protect all of them, but if it's affordable to protect some, then it's better than none.

    We'll see.

Actually by the time the trees start to show damage, they've been chewed on for a long time; sometimes many years. They can be a tough tree but still fall to the bug.

I had one land on my garage door earlier this year as I was unlocking it, I smacked it and it fell to the ground dazed. Then it tried to fly away looking punch drunk, I was flailing away with both hands to trying to knock it back down so I could stomp it. I must have looked like and idiot to anybody driving by. It got away.

We've even found some in our wood piles. Of course, those are dead.

Figure at least a couple hundred dollars but the final cost depends upon the size of the tree.

See if you can do it yourself... looks like it’s a 30 hour course and test to get a private pest applicator license. Depending on the number of trees, that could drop the price significantly if you do it yourself...

    Yep, what he said ^^^

I had mentioned possibly salvaging some of my road frontage tree's, think I got him thinking that was all. LOL

Well, guess I'll have plenty of open area to plant oaks and a few other variety of trees.
