I'm finishing up a short vacation in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and found this tree. My guess is some kind of maple but figured I'd ask here to be sure. Thanks!

Sorry I tried to load the thumbnails and not the full image. I'm not sure what happened.

Sweet gum. Be glad you're on vacation and don't have to split it.

Thanks everybody! Sorry it took so long for me to see this. I was on the road back home all day. I've never seen one here in central PA so I wasn't sure what it was.

We were staying at Beachwoods Resort in Kitty Hawk. My aunt has a time share there and asked if the wife and I wanted to join her. My grandparents used to have a house in Nags Head that we spent a week at every summer but we had to sell it after they passed away a few years back. It's been years since I was down though.

That is awesome!! The OBX is by far my favorite vacation destination. I like to think of it as my home away from home haha.

Plus the steering wheel is on the wrong side. Those were sold here in the states too, but this guy is a pro, pushing the limits of that rig.

I do like it, but I'd get all the way up a logging road and only be able to fit a few rounds.

I think Eric VW was referring to both your and Horkn’s ability to refer to a fabulously obscure reference at will. Since Horkn was here first, he should have referred to you as the New Hampshire Horkn and not Horkn as the Wisconsin Midwinter Just my opinion. I could be wrong...

    You're thinking the correct way;)

To make things even more odd, I used to live in Bethel Maine, which is very close to New Hampshire. I spent quite a bit of time in NH when I lived in Maine.
