    Can't wait!

Some chicken people I know are amazed at how clean and normal the first egg looks. Usually the shell is super soft, wrinkled, dirty or a shelless mess. Sunday it is! Mega omelette!

    That looks sooogoood!

First Egg was delicious! I should've ate it by itself, but make a bacon & egg on an everything bagel! It was a double yolk, normal for young pullets. Nothing else since, but more soon!

Ya know, Brian... everytime I see that you've posted something, I immediately think of the bear and then expect a posting like - "The Poultry massacre at Well Seasond's".

Let's hope you don't read that! :hair:

We are fully energized now! I bought a fence tester, but had to touch it didn't I?

Wasn't to bad while wearing shoes. Later that night, barefoot..... I thought I was gonna get thrown! Holy chit!

I don't understand why one must test the fence using one's body parts. Must be the X chromosome in me :D

It pulses the power, so it's saf"er" :D

I needed to make sure it was strong enough. Common sense slipped my mind. o_O

Some just throw fences together direct current no pulse and if you touch it, you can get locked onto it and die.

I thought the same thing

That said, we put one up on the bottom of our fence (foothills, uneven and rocky, our hunting dog liked to dig out the where she could to hunt on her own) in 1998ish and WWW asked me to test it :picard: Um, no.

Also Well Seasoned , I cannot remember our voltage, but she would rather take the shock to get out than stay in the yard so we had to get another higher voltage one (cattle), same thing with the bear at our neighbors house that had chickens down in his canyon. Hopefully your bear gets the idea faster than bear at the neighbors.

The tester was reading 6500 volts, which is pretty good. The bacon grease on part of the fence will be where any bear puts his most sensitive part- his nose on. This should do it.
