Fans are good even if moving around warm air. Okay, doesn't help as much when it is very humid, and sure I would probably elect more A/C use in the house if I didn't love my low electric bill even more (last two have been $45 and $47 - can't wait to see what it jumps to with a couple days use of the new unit).

I'll call you weenie and you can call me cheap :drunk:

The LG portable I had worked the same......hit "Timer" in the morning before leaving for work, click to # of hrs. before I wanted it to come on.

I never used it this way, but I could have also had the unit running, hit "timer" button, and then clicked to # of hours before I wanted it to shut off.

I'm guessing yours probably works the same.

    Agree.
I keep my bedroom door closed, so the a/c does better for the other rooms,
and the ceiling fan at night, does a decent job... even when the room is hot..

    By the way, Bogie...
When it's 95°, I don't find riding the bike any relief either...
I wanted to take a ride to Bentley's for the breakfast deal last Sunday.
    Didn't.
(there will better opportunities I'm sure :) )

    Weenie.

I'm guessing you're talking about Bentley's Roast Beef(?), not Bentley (Warren)'s Saloon in Maine. ;)

There is no good answer for that. It is the way they are wired and you have to accept it just a part of their very being. Call your observation to their attention and they will dismiss it like it proves nothing. Just be thankful she is your loving partner.

She is most fortunate to not be in torturous pain. It can be horrid. Hope she recovers soon. You just never know when that will flare back up.

As I suspected, since that is the way my luck runs, Compressor is toast. $1,900 fix.

But wait, there is more . . .

I mentioned that I had only made one payment on the truck when I checked it in. Once they diagnosed it, the service guy went to the Sales department. They are comp'ing the labor (the expensive part) and I will kick in for the part, so I'm taking the deal. One of the reasons I didn't wait (besides driving in pouring rain at 90* sux), is the faster I took it in, the more likely they would help out on cost. If they hadn't offered first, I would have asked nicely, and then pitched a fit if I had to until I got something. But I'm as happy as I can be with their offer (yeah, would have been happier with a $0, but since used vehicles are "as is", I couldn't reasonably expect that)

Oh, they didn't have the part in stock so I will take it in Friday. Have to work that day anyway, so not a big deal to drop it off and have them shuttle me back and forth as needed.
