That happens a lot to us on this end. I also lost a friend who worked for me for years. He was 5 years older than me, but was much more active. Sorry for your loss.

It was a heat index of 114° in the town where the lake is that we frequent by home.


There, I finally got to use it in relation to the actual heat index.

 

Yep, same here. For now. The temps are going up though, and I have a lawn to mow. Also, I have to wait until 9 to get on the tractor. Well at least the grass will be dry to mow.

 

Ugh I just got in from doing a bit of yard work. I tried to get it done before it got "too" hot. Just came in, its 88 out now pretty humid. Soaked down to the shorts.

Took the riding lawn mower on an excursion to reclaim the trail out of my yard. Hit a few big rocks on the way out and back....good thing I dont care about it!

 

Well Burlington has its first ever heat advisory.. They have been alerting us of that for 4 days..

Edit its an excessive heat warning!

 

Elected to do all my bike riding this morning - that humidity finally hit us good and would be no fun this afternoon!

Yeah, when it's humid like this, you really don't get any cooling from the wind.

I got my lawn mowed. Yeah, it's hot. Breezy, but again, it's so humid that the wind didn't help.

 

A lot of catching up to do. Have been away for 2 weeks.

I only caught 154 fish in an 8 day period. Water high and we got blown off the lake 2 days. Fishing was hard.
My sister has been going there for 15 years and normally catches 600 fish in the period.
Scenery was fantastic.

 

That is the killer today, absolutely zero wind, and the humidity is higher than it has been. Well, both those plus the high temp here was 97. Makes the indoors at 83*, and not as humid feel cool.

 

Just an update on brake situation.
All new copper brake line installed, found out bill on Friday. $250 is all he's charging me, quite the reasonable amount for the work required.
