So #dukethecouchog has been going lame or weak in his rear. X-rays show he's been shot Which we didn't know. (More pellets towards his head/neck)
Have had several opinions, they think degenerative disc disease. It can lead to paralysis incontinence and death if not treated.

Haven't been happy with local surgons. We're looking into Cornell(3hours away), and a few other local places. But it seems he will need spinal surgery to repair two areas. We are pretty set on trying to find the best possible care for him.

What's most upsetting to me is the recovery. It's a rough few months. And this dog has had enough crap happen to him. I promised him I wouldn't let anyone hurt him again. Now I have to hurt him to make him better.
He is the definition of pitbull. Tough as nails and soft as silk.

Outside prespective? You rescued him from the streets and gave him a loving hand and a home, be his hero and rescue him from his lameness and the pain that causes it be it supportive care or surgery. ?

that is so cute. Dogs really do think a lot like people. That dog knew a game to play with the baby that was fun for the both of them and safe for the baby.

Here is Wyatt. He's 10+ yrs old and we picked him up last winter from and owner who could no longer look after him. He'll have a home with us for the rest of his life. Today was up to 94 degrees and high humidity, so we have been making sure his wallow area has plenty of cold water today.

He's very friendly. He was originally a "house pig" so he is used to people and was potty trained. He lived outdoors for the last couple of years before we got him. He lives outside with us. If anything, he's a shy of the dogs, sheep and people. Just very sweet all-around.
