I can’t find Tri Tip in NY or CT. Is there another name it could go by? I am always hearing about, but never see it.
im not sure...it is definitely a must buy.....got any price choppers down there? thats where i get mine
looks kinda like a boomarang, think it comes outta the shoulder clod, grain goes a couple different ways
These are called red hots...they are large, like 3-4 times the size of a hot dog....be good sliced up and mixed in some pasta or sumthin, not that good plain little spicy
Unfortunately not. I thought for sure Costco would have them, but they don’t. I’m still going to look around.
Had two deer tenderloins on the smoker this evening. Soaked one in Italian dressing all day, the other was rubbed down with a little olive oil, salt, pepper, and paprika.
Found a price choppers 25 miles away. According to the website they have 1lb tri-tip. They are the only place that seems to carry them in the east. I might just go.
Been watching too many wood fire cooking vids and what not, figured I'd try a T-bone in the fire pit out back. Never really gave it a try, even when we've gone camping in the past I just use the tabletop propane Weber. The steak cooked a lot easier than I anticipated. I do wish it was a Ribeye instead since the fattier areas soaked up better wood/smoke flavor.
