Great score and a massive maple! How are you going to pick up the rounds? Not too big to man handle on to the truck?
I had to noodle a couple, but most of them go via hand truck onto trailer. We didn't get a full load tonight, we just wore out too quick. I made about 5 slices on the big chunk, and my back was howling. Lots of readjustment and assessment, so that I didn't get smashed if it started to roll. Lots of wedges, and some stump wedges to keep it stable, I'm still a rookie so I was taking is cautious.
Hand truck onto the trailer makes sense... Every time I look at massive trees, since it's usually just me with saw and maul, I always think about how the heck can I deal with these rounds. Not everyone has heavy equipment or the muscle to lift 150 - 250 pound rounds into the bed of a truck and then on to the splitter. Your going to get a lot of wood out of whats left!
A trailer works well but if you only have a pick up , You should try this http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/for.../easily-load-big-rounds-into-your-truck.3338/
