I truly enjoy winters much much more now that I've been diagnosed with the infamous disease AKA "wood hoarding syndrome". I enjoy burning in our open fireplace and we look forward to putting an insert in and cutting back on bills. There is nothing like a brutal cold night, crackling fire and being nice and warm!!

But I will say that I enjoy all the seasons. I do not enjoy long periods of sweltering heat, but a couple of hot days if your in the right place (by a pool, on the beach, out fishing) is ok by me. Long stretches of heat and humidity gets old really really quick. I also enjoy summers a little bit because in my area most folks go on vaca, go to the shore points for the summer (Sorry WeldrDave) or just about every weekend which makes it really nice and quiet, less traffic, less noise, etc....Same goes for winter, seems more folks hunker down and aren't out and about.

The media ad-driven reporting will be SENSATIONAL.

And, can we celebrate the first day of Summer on Thursday first ?
Even though regarding length of day it's all downhill from then ?

I am NOT a fan of summer, the humidity just zaps me, but the oldest grandson leaves for USMC boot camp the end of August so want to spend time w him fishing and gigging frogs. Am a Marine veteran myself, so very proud of him.

No prediction on the winter. We've had several dry ones of late so due a snowy one. I'm setting the best i have been in years for dry wood. I always look forward to burn season.
