    I've been following the mess up in the western UP, . For those that haven't seen it, they got around 8" of rain overnight and there is major destruction with city streets completely washed out and many country roads with bridges washed out. Most of this is in the Houghton/Hancock area.

    Good idea to check on him.

    Ironwood/Bessemer were also hit hard. Nasty system!

    X2...didn't know a thing about it!
    I can't imagine 8"...we had 3"+ in less than 24 hrs (2" of it in less than an hour) a few weeks back and it tore some stuff up!

    Houghton and Hancock are basically built on hillsides separated by a lake in the middle. That much rain in a short time is a recipe for disaster. Kinda weird that 180" of snow melting each and every spring doesnt affect the geography much

    My son and son in law are hiking on Isle Royal they left the truck at Copper Harbor. They must go through Houghton to get home. There is no way to communicate with them until Saturday when they take the ferry off the Island.
    Hope they didnt get to wet.

    Found out this evening that the 12 year old child mentioned above has died. :(
