Sounds like PNW is looking dry and hot this summer. Could bring some crazy snow or cold but that’s only for this area and have to be on the fence for future projections.

I'm not going to make any predictions, I just can't wait until I can light the first fire! I'm not a fan of the summer heat. It kicks the chit out of me.

Inland pnw has had a fairly cool spring and last 2 mornings it's been 39 at my house. I'm thinking it's gonna be a little harsher winter than what 17-18 was.

I'm still burning. It is 41 and raining now. A little higher in elevation it is snowing. I want a break so I can install my AS.

What I’d give for a few days of that right now. It’s only 102 heat index here today

 I really enjoy burning the stove and all things Fall & Winter.......BUT I wanna enjoy summer for awhile. Been doing the same job for almost 21 years now and they finally let us wear shorts, been in the pool twice so far, just spread the first 2 yards of mulch, love all the flowers blooming, garden is coming along and the beach will be calling in early Sept. THEN after that I'll check back on Winter 18-19.....:)

St. Louis is expected to hit 105°F heat index this weekend. The stacks get full sunlight all day long.

    Yeah, thoughts are NOT that^^^

I like spring and fall the best, moderate temps are my friend.
Not crazy about extreme heat or cold.

Fall is my best time of the year. As for summer, it is good until the weather gets like it is right now. High dewpoints ruin the weather for me.

As for the coming winter, for sure it is too early to make much for predictions. As for us, we are due a snowy winter as we've gone several winters with very little snow. Last winter was much colder than we had been getting used to but far from the coldest we've had. Spring was also very cold early on but the last month (we're still in Spring) has been above normal for the most part.

The old saying is that one extreme usually follows another. So cold winter and spring is likely to bring on a hot summer which could bring on a cold winter. But the cycle has to break sooner or later so the winter could be a toss up.

In 6 months it will be at the end of fall with the first day of winter within that next week so I do not expect it to be too cold right then. The real cold usually happens after Christmas or New Year's. Around these parts many years January 10 is quite often the turning point into the extreme cold air.

We'll just have to wait and see. I the meantime, build up the wood piles. :stacker: :stacker: :stacker:

Zero hurry for cold here! Plenty of summer fun ahead. I am going to enjoy every minute of it!

No worries about the arrival of cold. Plenty of fuel stored up for years ahead.

Can’t say no to a good snow storm but they don’t happen often here where I live so whenever there is one, I hope to be keeping the inside a toasty and cozy ambience. It snowed on Christmas Eve last year so that was one of those times...

Good post! I'll only say this much, as many of you already know I'm a "winter guy", I love the winter.......I hope that the winter of 2018-19 is a little harsher than its been in recent years! I expect to burn 8 cord of wood in a decent heating season, and I've only been burning 5-6.....I'm getting backed up here, and I need more room to HOARD MORE WOOD!!!!
