Here is a picture of our Country "T" Top stove doing its thing. Heats the whole house (1450 square ft.) in the coldest winter without half trying. We have a bi-level so the heat naturally flows upstairs to the farthest corner on its own. Also Megan our late (sniff) Gordon Setter doing what she did best. This was "Her Place" strategically located between my Wifs chair and mine so she could get attention from two directions! metalcuttr IMG_0035 (800x600).jpg

Thanks for the comments Chaz and Eric VW . Still hurts! HolsatiaRedneck So true. I would get a kick when she would get up panting and then turn around the other way to bake the other side. metalcuttr

Pallet Pete Thanks for the positive comment. The brand name is "Country". I believe they are still in business. I goggled them not too long ago as I recall and a web page came up. It is an older stove but still EPA rated and doe a great job. Need to redo some of the fire bricks this year though. metalcuttr

Eric VW Just a curiosity, what exactly is "all Southern"? Do I really want to ask this? metalcuttr

Just that I would have unleashed some Southern euphemisms on him....which is the funny part, b/c I'm actually a Yankee (L.I., NY native)....

I knew a welder from”country” and they were a great but local company from western Washington. I believe that lennox bought them out.

Hello to a fellow MossBack. Thanks for the info. When we got ours it was a high end unit. It was and still is a great stove. Only maintenance I do is graphite the hinges, yearly chimney and stove clean and this year new fire bricks. My Wif and I and all of our dogs have loved the heat. Of an evening the Wif and I would close our books, turn out the lights and settle down in our recliners. The dog would be flopped on the floor within easy reach, the three of us existing in a flickering pool of yellow light and warmth, while the wind rattled the rain and cold against the windows. It was a good time to contemplate love, life and companionship!.......Please pardon my drifting off topic. It is a trap I fall into more and more often the older I get!

Kinda hard not to tear up about that metalcuttr. :tears:You described what that serene night on Xmas eve was like with the snow falling all around. I remember loading up the stove with birch, cherry and some apple. Really enjoyed that for a couple hours then a couple of oak 4x4 cuts went in there for the night. After an hour of that, the color is like a bright red purple as the secondaries just take off like crazy, beautiful!
