Sorry I'm late to the updates, I'm on vacation and trying to cram a lot in. I really didn't take too many pictures on Saturday, I did more chatting.

First of all, thank you Dawn and Brian for being excellent hosts. Your property is fantastic and peaceful. It was the first time I've heard a whip-poor-will, and it was quite memorable. I have a lot of other folks to thank, but here are some highlights.

Thank you saewoody for bringing Mason along, Nathan had a great time shooting arrows and exploring the woods. I wish we could have stayed to say good bye. They were like peas in a pod and kept mostly out of mischief.

It was a pleasure talking with all the ladies about cooking pizza. I really enjoyed it. I didn't realize they guys cutting and splitting missed out. I made about 1/4 of the pizzas that I could have made. I had so many leftoversions toppings. The meatball sub and black olive pizza never got made. WeldrDave brought some pickled garlic that was sliced up and put on one pizza. I missed a slice of that one.

I took one pic as they were cooking as there were secondaries floating around in there.

I spent a few minutes with MikeInMa and fuelrod comparing antique Peavey's Mike and I brought along.

It's been said many times that these are way too short, and it sure was. I wish I had more time to sit for a few minutes and chat with more of you, but there is so much to see and do.

I could go on and on about the whole GTG, but I want to say if you can make it to one, go if you can. These folks are all top shelf. It was almost like a big family cookout.

Midwinter, thank you for bringing the cast iron pans. They were a huge hit and WeldrDave is like a cast iron encyclopedia. Also one helluva guy.

I had great discussions with NHMountainman, as we are from the same area and we compared how things were several years ago.

I'm sure I will add some more thoughts as I think of them. One of them is thank God the Porto potty had grab bars on the door. That was an adventure in itself. These folks can really make a great bonfire.

Wow, a lot of pages to catch up on, and some great pics.

It's wonderful to hear that everyone had a great time, and most importantly made it home safe and sound.

Backwoods Savage I can relate with your trip, didn't check mileage, but from our place to Cedar rapids Iowa is about the same (800+ miles).

I certainly hope to make it to an official FHC G2G one day.

    Enjoy your trip Chaz.

fishingpol I remember when you took that picture by the fire.

On the whip-poor-wills, I was surprised how many had never heard them. I always enjoy them; one of my very favorite birds. Just wait until you are up close to hear them!

I hate to see someone leaning on the rail fall off the deck because the upper rail nails or screws pulled out.
Plus it is very unpleasant to a critical eye. :bug:

Ummm, thanks for taking notice of that. Yes, many of the blocks were knocked out by a shovel during the snowy season. Happens ever year.

I don't appreciate in a really great thread your only posts criticizing our deck. Its troll like and uncalled for. If you don't have anything nice to say- don't reply in the thread.

None yet. There is a 6ft fence down there, the netting type, best I could do in the short time frame I had, pretty much invisible!
