Between the top branches that were dead and some chit that cracked along with only a small load of pallets I brought home from work- this kept the fire big the entire night. Thanks to NH mountain man for bringing a massive truck load of pallets along with the pine branches Scotty Overkill took down, we were able to keep a ROARING fire going all night!

OH....another thing that's special....I obtained some local white birch here at home to put in are insert over the summer months. It was rather dull n drap lookin (too much brown in it). So after looking around at Well Seasoned property...I sad to myself....self it would awesome to have some of that pretty white birch to replace the wood that I already have.
So speaking to Brian...he said he had a leaner that could be takin down n before I knew here comes Scotty Overkill with rope n saw in hand.
The neat thing to me is...everytime I look into the wood insert....I have a piece of New Hanpshire n some more VERY GOOD MEMORIES.
Hats off to Brian n Scotty again.....

Ditto. I've had some white birch splits that I put in the stove during the summer months. They are showing their age. So, I scrounged a few pieces of that same white birch. They sure make the "black hole" nicer to look at. And I agree....seeing the pieces do bring back memories of the gtg.

A special thanks to fuelrod for doing the leg work picking up my new tractor chains! Also Canadian border VT for handling the money aspect of things and WeldrDave for getting that stihl sign "just in time" :Dalong with everyone involved! fishingpol who made the absolutely awesome "Old man on the Mountain" fire poker!

Old Man of the Mountain - Wikipedia

(I'D LIKE TO SEE THAT PM by the way guys)

A special thanks to Jack Straw for forgetting the tent poles! I really did fear he would be showering with the hose in the back of the house! Seriously though- you pulled through hooking up with Dennis and making sure he was good to go after that long drive.

A special thanks to Midwinter for bringing those brand new boots- dawn will make good use of them along with the cast iron pans! Many members including myself get the honor of using these in our homes! Also, taking in Marshel54 after his flight! )

A special thanks to MikeInMa for helping me keep track of the supplies before and during the g2g asking with bringing the saw and other goodies

A special thanks to milleo for remembering our furry friends and bringing along loads of treats for them!

A special thanks to saewoody and fishingpol for bringing their boys to do what boys should be doing at that age! I often looked over at them and they were enjoying the bow & arrows, trucking around in the woods having a grand ol time! They were both very respectful, and this comes from parenting! Kudos!

A special thanks to Canadian border VT for making this trip with the pain you were having! I had tears in my eyes when you pulled in, as I do now writing this. You have a special place in my heart brother since I personally met you. You are the nicest and most caring person I have ever met.

A special thanks to Scotty Overkill for getting "sappy ballz" climbing that leaner toward the house and piecing it down! We were concerned with that particular tree leaning over Matt's room. Thanks for dropping the others as well. The birch felling technique was filled with adrenaline! I've never seen these hoarders run so fast. (@saewoody,bear 1998,WeldrDave)

A special thanks to Backwoods Savage for making this loooong surprise trip! He drove about 800 miles to get here! :hair: Also, I learned that splitting vertically, the splitter will never run out of gas!

A special thanks to WeldrDave and his beautiful wife Chrissy for helping us set up early on Friday and bringing us a few gifts. These will be cherished forever!

Everyone who attended I want to say this, I have never held a g2g of this magnitude and I was a tad stressed, before and during this event. I wanted to make sure it ran smoothly and everyone had a unforgettable time! It seems this was accomplished! The only thing is that I wish I could've sat down one on one more than I was able to. We will likely hold more of these events, each one getting better than the last! God willing each of you attend the next one, and thank you all for coming! :)

I meant to grab some of that birch too, but I was running off schedule when I left Sunday morning and I forgot.

I also forgot to grab a few of those state flowers for my wife's flower garden. ....

    Dang it......

Ha ha, guilty of most of it! The green rain pants, camo jacket, and stove polish I left behind on purpose, hoping that someone would adopt them. I don't want them back. Do with them what you will.
The yellow webbed chair is ours as well, use it freely until the next get together. If you blow out the seat, no worries, I've got lots. The electric swatters are ours as well, consider them yours, as well as the plastic container the bean salad was in. And keep the granite blocks too, or throw them in the woods. They are useful for holding down tarps! I pick them up at the dump.
Sorry to burden you with so much stuff. I spent 30 years filling up my house, and now I'm trying to empty it. I'm glad that all the cast iron found new pan parents!
P.S. I think you know what to do with the milk crate!

For members that have not attended a GTG yet, FHC, the F has a double meaning, it also stands for Family along with Firewood.

Brian, Dawn and Matt (a great 15yo gentleman, yes they do exist!) Moved from PA, to NH on a dream, without jobs and away from family to start a new life. We were hosted at their 'piece of paradise' and I think I speak for everyone, when I say it was an honor and privilege to attend.

Okay, good to know! I believe NH mountain man Had dibs on the camo jacket and I'm sure he'll chime in soon enough.
