Back on the hose project. Wrecked use of my hands for a day by putting the fitting on incorrectly, so, new plan.... Hole in wall.

How many tools does WW need to make a hole through 3" poly iso, one layer osb and one layer of some unknown fiber stuff on the outside?

New question on deck, what might be a good way to plug around the hose to prevent spiders and mosquitos etc. from coming in? Ideas appreciated! (hole is between washer and dryer)

There was some EXTREMELY thin pipe run under the house (1"-4" clearance) that WWW repaired several times and we finally just shut it off, the faucet was on the NW wall on the other side of the dogs' fence, too many steps for me to waste and we are making our back yard home on the south side anyway. I put a plastic yellow splitter on my cold water laundry line. Works okay but is a pita, hard to get behind the dryer to turn either of the two valves on/off and insects fly in through the dilapidated window in the pic that I've been running the hose through. My plan was to XYZ, then a couple ABC's etc. Simplified it all..... I hope lol.

The starts were way opposite last year when we got ours. Maybe a lot of people got them This year and waited too long to get the unit going? If you don't put one or as soon as the bugs first start, you have to wait about 3-4 weeks to break the life cycle of the skeeters.

Ours works great. It makes our patio so much better to hang out on. They really do work, and we didn't even change the bulb from last year. The literature says the the bulb emits CO2. I doubt that aspect. However, the light draws them in, and the fan sucks them into it, never to escape.

The Hoont brand my mom just got seems to work well too. She just emptied her's and she said it was filled with 50/50 mix of skeeters and moths.

Thank you :) that crossed my mind too, and I will likely do that this fall and drill it out again in the spring, except I'm going to pull the remaining 45' hose back through this fall. Running scenarios of cotton balls, steel wool, old tube socks etc. at the moment. That said, the hole is pretty tight.

A lot of the one star reviews said that the unit did not function properly, or at all in some cases, or worked for a short time, then died. Also many reports of catching mostly moths, no or very few skeeters. Several said the skeeters would gather around the unit, but not get close enough to be sucked in.
Ebay has the 1 acre unit for $93.50 shipped, factory refurb with full factory warranty...just not sure I want to risk almost $100 on it with those spotty reviews...hate using skeeter spray on the kiddos all the time though...

My father had a Coleman gas one 40 years ago. He regrets selling it in a garage sale to this day. I bought a look alike a few years ago but it used sticky tape traps that filled up instantly, too $$ and pita to change the traps every couple hours. I'm spraying Malathion tonight or tomorrow morning..... Every time I look there are over 100 mosquitos on my screen door. I also have concentrated permethrin for select places
