Some of you have used my splitter at a couple GTG’s and it’s a nice little guy but has been lacking a nice side table for some time... I have always planned on going all out pallet Pete style and building an insanly complicated catch table but I found this was $79 free shipping. It arrived today in superb condition! Hopefully I am able to get a it installed tonight! Stay tuned more pics to come!
I love mine too, you and I have the same model/tonnage. I wanna see that pretty wing on your splittah. Might need to get for mine too. Help me encourage me to bling mine out a little bit.
I have that table. It starts to slip and tilt down after a while. Doesn't matter how tight it is. Rough up the paint on the arms and add some fender washers. You'll see what I mean. Table helps a lot!
I think I’m gonna weld the supports in place on it then. After I opened the box I wasn’t very impressed with the arms... It’s not in yet hopefully tomorrow night...
Same splitter with a homemade tray: Made the log catcher out of the steel shipping pallet the splitter came on. Homemade DHT-22 log catcher... KaptJaq
I don't know how people use a splitter without the log catchers... I have one on both sides, AND a table over the motor... that is the bomb!
I don't like splitting setting down. We bought this one because of past injuries it hurts way to much to sit and split for very long. Or last splitter was a home made splitter and I screwed up by not building it taller. It was too low down and made my knees and legs hurt very bad. I'll use the heck out of a table that's for sure right now I'm standing a couple rounds on end to act as a table but that's not very stable.
Is the special lubricant in the aluminum can on the towing frame for the splitter or for the operator? I tilted my table away from the engine. I found that when the splitter is running the vibration slowly moves the wood on the table. If I am distracted long enough, the tilt makes sure the wood slides away from the motor. KaptJaq
It is filled with kroil my can had a leak ( not kidding ) I grabbed what was on hand so I didn’t loose it all. Still lost about 20 ounces of oil ticked me off... The table is a drastic improvement over what I was doing but it’s getting modified in the future. I’m adding a lip around it most likely. Way to slippery! The rounds vibrate off it too easily.
Kroil is good stuff, but I found out quick that I had to loosen the spray head on my sprayer when I'm done with it, or it would vent out the oil when it's hot out.
