    Hello
New BTU value of pellets tested right out of the bag not the ideal value!

My question is where is “As Received” and can they be tested again when I get them home and before I use them? That may be better possible soon. :)

    See 2 values here:

Anyone try these new pellets $219.90 per ton & Free Delivery.

Moisture free is fictional.............. You'll never see that. Its a value calculated at the testing labs. A pellet needs moisture in it to help bind them together or they would crumble into little bits and pieces.

Somewhere in the 4 to 8% MC is more like real world "as received"..........

That Natures Energy bag looks very similar to the bag that the Mohegan's were producing(forget the name of them!!). Just a guess as I have not seen them yet. And we likely won't get much about them until the fall burning starts.

That's one of my biggest pet peeves right there. I don't think Moisture Free results should even be calculated because their only use is to deceive.

yes, but it sets a "best possible case" scenario for the lab monkeys. For us, we look at "as received", to compare pellets......this can even be erroneous, especially if the pellets are old, or stored in less than ideal conditions!
