I bought this saw a few months ago, as a non runner off of Ebay. It was obvious that someone had repeatedly tried to start it, or keep it running, to no avail before I got it. A quick removal of the carb indicated that the impulse was rotted off. I replaced that, checked over the carb... Checked squish, cut the base of the cylinder on my lathe, ported it, opened the baffle, added another exhaust port- and wala. She is a very, very strong runner. Baileys had a sale on small mount Husky bars a while back, I bought a combo for this saw. It uses a K041 mount, which is a little different than the small mount Husky (K041's are no longer produced). I elongated the adjuster holes in the bar to blend in with the bar channel, and it oils well now. This saw is seriously as close to perfect as a firewood saw could be in this neck of the woods. Very nice power, especially for its size. This thing slings more bar oil than I would have ever imagined, I am definitely impressed with that.
That's a pretty nifty little saw Carbine. I don't see those very often around here but maybe it's because I'm not looking? When were those produced? (Approximately)
Not quite sure MM. This one is a rebadged Poulan 3300, there may be some changes between the two, not exactly sure. There are too many to list.. but Poulan 3000, 3450, 3500, 3750, 335, 365, 330, 380, etc. are some of the good late model Poulans to look for. The ergonomics are fantastic, they just feel good in the hands.
It is made up like my 3500 Poulan but the 3500 is a 3.7. I'm sure there was a Poulan 3.3 without a brake? I used my 3500 for 10 years before selling and never gave any thought about a brake.
They definitely are enjoyable saws, this one especially. You are going to have to run it, and let me know what you think.
That is definitely a sweet little saw. If I come down, I wanna wrap my grubby hands on it. I am really gonna make time this week. Wife said I have to stop talking about it. LOL.
