Got a call about a big limb that had fallen from a big pin oak. It was rather warm down in GA yesterday afternoon, but with the help of a friend, we beat the storm and got a nice little load on the dump trailer. Sometimes ya just gotta do what ya have to do...firewood hoarders march on till the job is done...
At that temperature and dew point I’d be waiting for cooler conditions. We rarely see that up here thankfully.
Sweet score. Best thing about situations like this is cutting to your own length...Hate showing up to free "firewood length sections" that end up being 24" long. That being said, good hustle with those temps. I'm a wuss in the heat. I'll take cutting in the winter over summer any day, the only problem is the amount of free wood on CL right now in my area is making my head spin, most of which is my personal favorite, ASH!
Same here. When we have temperature that high and especially dewpoints that high, there is no wood cutting for us for sure!
Didn't have much choice on waiting later, it was at a museum. Luckily the storm brought a good breeze and we had plenty of H2O.
Another storm Saturday, another big limb down, same , they decided to call in tree man to do take down. I got the call for some of the clean up. Sure wish the main trunk had been more solid, but still managed a big 12' dump trailer load off the limbs.
