Good point on the mini fridge....

On another note, I called Lowes Warranty to add that the ice maker isnt working now as well. Woman says, "you cant wait 10 days for service on a fridge not cooling!! If we cant respond within 3 days for a fridge not cooling, we need to start the buy back process. That process hould have been started on Saturday when you called in. Also, get a list of what you lost for food as that will be reimbursed as well."

She cancelled the service call and started the process to get me reimbursed the full purchase price. I will believe it when I see the check but I might be getting a new fridge

Sounds like you are on a good track. Every once in a while those boxes can surprise you.

I bought and installed a Bosch mini tank (4gallon) water heater to go inline in the kitchen with the tankless for the house. Sick and tired of waiting for the hot water to show up when you just want to wash a couple dishes or your greasy hands.

    Anyone have experience with one?

None here, I assume its electric?

Kitchen and first floor bathroom are right over the boiler in the basement so no real wait time there. When I rented an apartment over a garage 25 years ago, the hot water tank was in the opposite end of the house-took forever to get hot water. And I was paying to heat the water wasted in the pipe run, luckily it was before heating costs were as high as they are now.

Yes, its 12amps. Plugs in to a regular socket. Takes 20 minutes or so to heat the tank.

Tankless (propane) is great for showers, but terrible for everything else.

I installed one of these in my previous home (gets installed on top of hot water heater).....worked great since the kitchen sink was on the opposite side of the house and it was a self install ( I do have some plumbing skills...LOL). Additional sensor valves can be bought separately and installed at as many sinks as you want.

I bought a whole new kitchen from Lowes two years ago Our dishwasher wasn't doing the job. Called Lowes, a tech come within a day or two. Went a few months, dishwasher still not getting dishes clean. Tech comes again after a day. Said it would need new parts. Lowes calls us, said they would refund the total cost of the dishwasher. They gave us a store credit. Bought a new dishwasher again. This one working fine. I found their service to be quick and responsive. so far, wife is happy with her new dishwasher. I bought the extended warranty again. Worth it.

    What brand dishwasher?

Fridge is LG and I think that is the issue. From what I see, LG and Samsung are great until they need service then there are issues.

Then again, my honeys dishwasher had similar issues as yours and Lowes refunded with a store credit as well. That was a Kitchenaid.

I need to find out quickly how Lowes is handling this. If sending a check then I can go ahead and purchase a new one. If credit, I need to wait for that to get here.

They all drive for Walmart. Walmart has a large warehouse in Lewiston, about 20 miles south of me. I had to go to York this morning, about 70 miles south of Lewiston. In that 70 miles I counted 30 Walmart trucks. Pretty much the same coming home, all the Walmart trucks were headed south.

Fridge issues can be traumatic for sure...

A few years ago my other half is out of town and we had just finished freezing the garden harvest...

I stumble into the kitchen in the early AM and the fridge is SCREAMING like a 5 alarm cat fight...

    OH MY GAWD

All I can see is the beast dying and the garden goodies going to waste. :bug:

Its Saturday morning and I call around and see whats available RIGHT NOW

Local appliance place has one that will fit in the cubby hole, but they can't deliver until TUESDAY...

    I need one now...

Head to Fry's and they have a unit that's perfect.

The sales guy says deliveries are done for the day ?????????????

About the time I start raising hell the delivery crew comes walking through the show room ..

Sweeeeeet...the sales dude asks them if they could deliver, and the crew was all over it. :D

An hour later the new fridge is humming away happily and all cold in another hour.

Load the goodies into the new one and then get the idea of checking out the old one (Still screaming away)

I get the rear panel off and discover a piece of clear plastic semi rigid stuff off of some box of ??? had gotten sucked into the condenser fan and is whizzzzing away in the blade.. :picard:

    Bottom line...

Better to be safe than sorry...

We gave the old one to the kids for an extra in their garage and it still works fine....

    Oh well...

I was not going to be the one holding the bag on that debacle if the fridge died....

The one that failed for us was a whirlpool. It was replaced with a KitchenAid. The refund came as a store credit which took a couple weeks to arrive. Wife wanted no part of waiting so I paid for a new one and used the rebate for other purchases. They will also rebate the cost of installation.
